This guy continues to prove himself !! GOOAALLLLL. With Altidore going down again this guy has to be considered for the Gold Cup.

Throughout this whole a kicking he's hustled and pressed the whole game finally gets a good ball takes on a defender schools the goalie with a nice shot.

Altidore will most likely be back for the Gold Cup.

I'm not implying he's taking Altidore's spot, but if he continues to play this well he deserves some consideration.

I would rather Agudelo, Davies, and Johannsson.

We're taking at least 3 strikers and I feel they will Altidore, Agudelo and Morris.

I guess you're right. The Gold Cup is usually a scrub w/several good players tourney for the most part anyways. I'd honestly rather have Rubin or Johansson up there though TBH. At least they play in competitive leagues. Not the NCAA.

Morris will absolutely not get a call up over AJ.

I would also rather have Rubin over Morris.

We are taking our A-team.

I guess we did take a more experienced squad back in 2007 when we last qualified. I think I heard Mexico was actually sending a B team to the Copa America to try and dethrone us. Guess we'll need everyone if that's really the case.

Last time we qualified? Are you confusing the Copa America with the Gold Cup? We are always qualified for the GC, since it is our confederation tournament. The CA we have to be invited to, with 2007 being the last time we played that tournament.

The Gold Cup is the most important tournament we play outside of the WC qualifying and finals.

This is the Gold Cup that everyone usually sends their best team to, including Mexico.

The GC has increased in importance now that there is a playoff in order to get into the Confederations Cup.

Yes, I know. But in the past, this would still be the GC that everyone sent their best team to. Now they really have to because we won the last one.

Isn't the Mexican A team playing in the Copa America?

ETA: Watched the second half and Morris was a step above everyone on the field. Seattle better lock his arse down fast or else he's going to Europe.

If they are, then they won't be playing in the Confederations cup.

No I was saying the last time we qualified for the Confed Cup in 2007. We had to win that Gold Cup in 2007, hence why we brought a veteran team, to go compete in the Confed Cup in 2009.

Never thought about it, but what if that's his plan. Keep rejecting the Seattle deals finishing college gives him enough time to show off his ability in these tournaments and possibly the cup and earn a better deal overseas. Jurgen wants them to get better experience anyway maybe he's convinced Morris. If he did I wouldn't be mad at him. If you want to improve and be the best you have to play with the best. Yedlin might not be earning significant time right now, but trust me he's learning how to be a complete back just by practicing and will come back better than the World Cup which he played tremendously in.
