Basically said he's pissed that certain players from the national teams are viewed as legends, but none of them have the club credentials he has and that he was close to our best player for the World Cup and Copa America, but whenever there is a bad game, the fans and media want him off the team.

Also said how everyone is quick to try and replace him for this cycle, but countered that by saying someone has to take it from him, but there hasn't been anyone out there to do so yet.

To be honest, there is a lot of truth to what he says.

Dude's 35 and he's wondering why people are looking for his replacement? He'll be 36 next summer.

Jermaine Jones was our best player last World Cup, and he is one of my favorite USMNT players ever. Dude just straight brought it to the big show.

If we're talking about multiple cycles, sure, but with the World Cup a year away, age doesn't matter as much, especially when we are calling in Dax McCarty as his backup.

We also have a guy like Acosta that's playing well but can't seem to get a chance.

Good depth for this cycle and the heir apparent as our 8 or 6, but right now, does he offer more to the table than Jermaine?

But he has to understand why people are wary of taking a 36 year to the WC. Right or wrong, it's a valid concern.

I don't know, but when you're looking at playing 3 physical games in the span of a week and a half, you have to consider Jones's recovery time.

I'm not really picking a side, I just see the arguments from both sides.

He does, and he mentioned that multiple times in the interview, says he'll retire after this cycle.

you become a national team legend by performing well for the national team Jermaine

he was one of the best players in the entire tournament imo, as was Tim Howard. Never thought I'd feel the feeling I felt over soccer as I did when he railed that shot against Portugal. I can repeat Darke's call verbatim and it still gives me chills.

for your viewing pleasure

Acosta, Kitchen, Williams...looking at y'all

At this point Jermaine does more harm than good. He has zero positional discipline and now he Is losing the athleticism to make up for the lack of tactical chops. We already have a free flowing player in Dempsey. We cannot afford to have two. Plus he only made one recovery tackle against Panama. One. Nagbe had six and was playing on the wing. Jones goes Willy nilly and leaves us with one midfielder centrally against counter attacking teams. It's a recipe for disaster.

Yeah. At this point, I don't know if you can count on Jones to play all 3 group stage games next summer. So at what point do you start to consider who replaces him?

Well technically he was easily replaced when Bradley played the 6 and Pulisic played at the top of the diamond. We played our best game in years and JJ was nowhere on the field. And for the record I love JJ.

Because he was on yellow card suspension.

With Bradley's yearly goal notwithstanding, he had a pretty terrible game I thought. Pulisic and Dempsey were the reason the score line was as it was.

Well that's just not true.

This further shows that Bradley had a really good game.
