No one ever includes defenders in this but if we're talking about all around players, David Alaba might be the best. Name another player who could start at fullback, center back, center mid, defensive mid, attacking mid and winger for almost any team in the world.

Lewandowski right now probably

David Alaba would be the best player on Chelsea by such a laughable margin.

He's definitely in the conversation

and no he's not.
It's probably Aguero if he could ever stay healthy or, as much as I hate to admit it, Suarez.
Other figs like Neymar, Robben (same issues as Aguero but maybe even worse), Lewa right now in the conversation for #3.
Yes attackers get the most love, but they also do the thing in soccer that's hardest to do.

Which is over a year older than what you claimed.

Lewa has to be up there because of the ridiculous form he's been in recently.
For a while there, Pogba looked like he was one of the best in the world. Haven't seen what he's done in Serie A this year.
I like the Alaba pick, too, although he won't get as much love as a do-it-all/non-attacker. He's definitely one of the most talented.

This thread makes me wonder how you would remotely compare an attacker to defender for this title.

I was going to say "yes" to the OP's question, but 4th behind Lewa seems appropriate, now that it's been brought up.

Pogba
Juventus is a cluster frick this year. Pogba is fine, but it certainly doesn't help.
