That's all. It's laughable that some people think Guzan is better.

Guzan stepping out of the box was dumb but if you think this is Guzan's fault, you may be dumb as well.

This was not on Guzan.

FFS, keepers sometimes have terrible matches. That doesn't take away from their actual abilities. I've seen Buffon have frick-ups before. What's that saying? Form is temporary...

Howard is the better keeper but this wasn't on Guzan imo.

Guzan stepping out of the box isn't Guzan's fault? Yeah, ok.

I know that is rarely called and yeah I think it's bullshite, but that is a mental lapse that shouldn't happen at this level.

If the wall jumps, it's forgotten.

Agreed, but I've seen better keepers do similar or worse.

The wall shouldn't have had to jump because we shouldn't have conceded a free kick there.

Just admit that your hatred of me is colouring your perception of Guzan.

Make a thread about wanting Besler back because the first goal was entirely on the center backs. You're picking and choosing and making a weak arse argument.

That has nothing to do with it. Quit projecting.

I'll admit that Guzan wasn't our main problem, our inability to score against Jamaica was. I agree on Besler. Why Brooks didn't jump on that corner is beyond me.

The wall should have to jump? Really?

However, Howard > Guzan

We shouldn't have conceded a free kick there is what I meant to say. No free kick = no goal = no one blaming the wall for what was Guzan's mistake, initially.

Personally, I'm just glad because of his command over the backline. He'll really go nuts on guys who are playing stupid. We need that. Only he can get Timmy Chandler to bathe, and frankly, that alone is enough to be welcomed back with open arms.

I guess what I'm saying is that Jurgen should leave him out of the squad for being fat and out of shape. More Rimando is my pick, personally.

I guess I am just going to post this here because its everywhere on this board, this isn't at you. Alot of keepers from that distance would rather the wall not jump because it is so difficult to get the ball up and down at such a short distance, dude hit it perfect.

I agree. And from that distance and angle there is a likelihood of the kicker just going under the wall, expecting it to jump. We beat ourselves with silly goals that shouldn't have happened. It's really upsetting.

I don't know if y'all watched timmy last season, but he couldn't stop anything post-WC.

The FK goal was Guzan's fault. Shouldn't have put himself that close to the line. That said, it was a screamer that once it cleared the wall, was basically impossible to save. Sure the wall could have jumped, but it shouldn't have been there anyways.

The first goal was almost entirely John Brooks' fault. Got beat on a header by a dude almost a foot shorter than him. That is just being lazy.

He wasn't great, but Guzan lost his starting spot to Shay fricking Given.

The goal is on Guzan. Don't see how you can argue otherwise. The careless mistake doesn't mean he's a terrible keeper. Nobody is saying that. It means that he F'd up and the whole team had to pay for it. Sure, the wall should have jumped, but who knows if they would have even timed it right or jumped high enough.
