Manchester United: Have now set a club record for the lowest amount of wins in a single PL season, regardless of whether they beat Palace

And United could still make it to the Champions League.

He's shown some IDGAF levels that are normally reserved for college football coaches in that last game before they get fired.

It has always irked me that if this would be just about any other coach, he would have been hung from the gallows by now.

To be fair if he doesn't win Europa he probably will be, but right now he still has that potential trump card in his pocket.

I think it's possible that his best days are behind him. I think next year will be the litmus test on that.

This! If they qualify for champions league, their budget will be through the roof.

On the flip side, and i don't have an opinion on this but it's just a thought....it is possible that maybe Jose and man United just aren't cultural fits with one another? I seemed like an odd choice in a way both from a personality perspective and also just how Jose wants to structure and set up his teams. I haven't watched a ton of their matches this season so I don't presume to have any special insight here, just a thought/question.

i've been wondering about this. say united does win that chamions league spot, does it take away the spot from the 4th placed EPL club? Like what happened tottenham a few years back when chelsea didn't finish in the top 4, but ended up winning that year's Champions League? (i think that's how it played out)

No, when they added the rule that gave the Europa winner a CL spot they also expanded the max CL spots in each country from 4 to 5.

The only way a 4th place team in England would miss out again would be if that country had both the CL and Europa winners and both finished outside the top 4 in domestic competition, which seems awfully unlikely.

IMO it was a good rule change bc what happened to Spurs that year was absolutely criminal.

not saying Chelsea shouldn't have gotten a spot, but it was absurd to bounce Spurs who did what was asked of them at the beginning of the year. There's no reason not to just expand the tournament by one like they have done now.

Either way it's always fun to rub it in on Spurs.
