Hits on a lot of topics and challenges preconceived notions. Well worth a listen.

Until MLS can attract top talent in their prime and astronomically increase their TV revenues they have no shot at being a top league. It is a global market to attract talent, and to base MLS off the NFL, MLB and the NBA is stupid. Those three leagues have a monopoly on the best talent in the world because of zero competition.

Very few clubs make money, even in the biggest European leagues.

Over the hill superstars is a start though. Soon, the aging stars will be less and less washed up and we could eventually get prime studs. Hopefully

This guy doesn't think there is a possibility for the US to provide its own talent down the road huh?

I was waiting for the host to ask that but I would imagine the response would be something like you're not going to be able to get the attention of the best potential players without a top domestic league in the first place, so it's kind of a chicken or the egg thing.

I thought the best part was the explanation as to why it's not necessary or even desirable for the people running the teams to make money.

Great listen but the interviewer was annoyingly stubborn and argues way too much because he didn't know what he was talking about.

I think his point is that even if the U.S. has quality domestic talent they would go overseas to play because they'll get better wages over there.

I mean we see players doing that now
