I can only imagine the handwringing going on at the fox offices before the game last night. I wonder how much Fox stood to lose if the US didn't qualify.

I remember Nike and Espn were freaking the frick out when Mexico almost didn't qualify. It was close to $150 million loss between TV and merchandise if they didn't.

I have never been one for conspiracy theories but when talking about money like that especially in intl soccer you have to wonder what dirty shite goes on.

I did think our guys were getting away with some pretty physical play in the first half of that game last night. It was a nice change of pace.

It also made me wonder why it always seems that we get screwed in these games. The US being good is a big money maker for the rest of CONCACAF.

No. I don't think they ever cared about the US market all that much. Converting India and China will be the real keys to success in the next century.
