So the first look at FIFA 18 is a trailer that looks way too good for it actually to be in-game. Take all of it for what it's worth... which ain't much. LINK

But CR7 is the cover athlete, and you can preorder a "RONALDO EDITION" that includes a bunch of FUT packs and, more importantly, three days early access to the game.

The "ICON EDITION" features more FUT stuff and has the O.G. Ronaldo on the cover.

LINK

Full reveal coming this weekend at EA Play.

Cool trailer. More interested to learn about what they are adding (or taking away) to this year's edition

Should know more soon. Apparently they're doing a bigger reveal at EA Play this weekend.

For the first year ever, I will not pre-order FIFA and will instead opt for the new FM.

Will keep up with this thread if it's worth it and will pick up from there. I'm sure City will be freaking stacked this season too.

Good thing FIFA isn't real life

What are some realistic improvements y'all are hoping for this year?

If they fix the transfer AI for CPU teams in career mode, that'd be huge.

And, as always, teams playing more like their real life counterparts... variety in styles... is an eternal ask. Custom tactics and player instructions looked like they actually worked last year, but you had to spend a ton of time fixing them for opponents.

I'm not gonna buy it unless they make some serious updates to manager mode.

"Serious" probably won't happen. Tweaks, sure. But they don't make a penny off of it.

I wish we could get a soccer version of 2K's MyGM. Add a RPG element to managing to freshen things up. Maybe a manager carousel.

What do you mean here? They fixed wages this year for the big clubs.

Teams don't buy and sell enough. Play five years ahead, and you'll see that squads are mostly the same outside of a shuffling of star players and maybe the purchase of a high potential player or two. And certain teams just buy up star strikers without any semblance of a strategy.

The money is fixed, but teams stockpile. Look at the transfer budgets of open jobs in the Premier League after three or four seasons. Everton and Southampton have like $185 million.

I only play manager mode, so all of my suggestions are for that, but:

Add more stadiums

Keep players in the game that are loaned out to teams not in the game (I'm not sure if they can but I hope it happens)

I'll echo the buy/sell for the big teams being straightened out so that they only buy what they actually need and not having the big money teams hoarding attackers

A few more international teams

Lastly, not having the board sell disgruntled players for obscenely low prices if you don't transfer list a player fast enough.

Yup the big money clubs just load up on talent.

United always has like 5 elite strikers. Usually Lukaku, Kane, Griezmann, Rashford and someone else.

Juve is always stupid deep in midfield

City is another club that loads up at striker. Esp PEA always ends up there. Then they hold on to players like Nacho who never play but want 25 million for them.

Bayern always end up with Sanchez and Aguero.

Spurs seems to always end up with Sturridge and Origi.

Liverpool end up dropping 60 million pounds each on like 4 or 5 random super stars that don't fit into the team.

The transfer strategy in 17 made no fricking sense. But if you kept an eye on players, getting them on free transfers was insanely easy.

As someone who also plays career mode exclusively now, I'd like to be able to have interactions with players.

Ex: Having an option to "converse" weekly with players that are disgruntled.

Offering more money shouldn't be the only way to try and convince a player to stay. Especially since you can offer an outrageous contract that often gets turned down anyways.

or them selling against your will

every time a player tries to force his way out and clubs low ball me, I hold on to them until like the last hour

- Have scouting make sense (why the frick can you not scout Wales as a fricking Welsh club, for example?)

- Have the designers actually learn about the clubs (Athletic should only sign Basques, Chivas should only sign Mexicans, Welsh clubs should prioritise Welsh talent at the youth level, etc.)

- Fix the transfer AI for other clubs

- Fix the damn loan system

- Make press conferences interesting

- I want fan involvement (protests, tifos, flares, etc.)

well I mean those papers they hold up count as tifos

fifa used to have flares back on like ps2

they said it was going to be part of 16 but decided to take it out last minute.

I know it'd be pretty much impossible to have as in-depth of a manager mode as FM, but I wish they'd take some steps toward that.

Easy fix for this is to go play PES for a month. Once Iniesta moves to Leicester and Sergio Ramos moves to Barca you'll come running back to FIFA
