Some updates on my Tottenham Hotspur quest.... Year 1
* It's January and I'm totally shitting the bed, currently 15th in BPL
* I struggle mightily at scoring and apparently Harry Kane is the only threat I have...
* I sold Christian Erikson to Roma in the Winter Transfer Window for $67 million and bought Pogba from Juventus for a cool $100 million
* I also bought Kelechi Iheanacho from MC during the Pre Season
* I now feel like I have some scoring threats with Kane, Alli, Iheanacho, and Pogba... Son is injured for 3 months
* I hope I can turn things around before seasons end

The biggest problem seems to be especially when a man with the ball is charging down the middle, and and when you try to select a new defender you can't select the right one that you want, and your defensive players fail to step up to the ball, leading to a free shot.
happens to me all the time
and in Fifa 16 the defenders don't really track back well and have trouble turning around so if you hit L1 and it's the wrong defender, he will literally just kind of pause for a second due to physics shock and the dribbler will blow past him for a 1-on-1
the L1 issue really sucks major dick when the ball is in the air on corners. in the old games you'd get the defender where hte ball was going to be almost 100% of the time. sometimes i hit L1 and the defender it chooses is on the other side of the fricking box

Some really good always falls to Europa ever year for me. I faced PSG in the quarters one year.
And I use 7 minute halves. Anything else is too much.

What game speed?
I find 10 is fine as long as GS is set to slow

There is a setting in regards to the switching where you can have them continue their movement from before you switched to them, and it helps with that. I don't think it's the default setting for whatever reason.
Personality- I use default speed. I haven't messed with sliders or anything like I did in 15.

I go with nine minutes on slow on Legendary with sliders. I've found that combo has given me the most realistic shot, tackle and foul stats in matches.

How does match speed affect things? I've never played on anything other than the default speed.

Slow speed makes player movement look more realistic in my opinion, and it allows you to play those 9 or 10 or 15 minute halves without games being like 5-4.

Update from FC Kaiserslautern...
Finished my second season and came in eighth in the Bundesliga. Not bad for a team that was expected to be immediately relegated.
Future American No. 1 Adam Delgado did a great job in goal of giving us one of the best defenses in the league, but we couldn't score enough to compete for Europe. Lots of draws.
I bought Cyle Larin of Orlando City fame in the January window to give me a possession-based striker off the bench. He's a freaking tank on this game.
I got $7 million for coming in eighth, which is fine. My academy is pumping out a lot of high potential prospects that will give me plenty of depth.
So far in the summer window, I've picked up:
...an Italian free agent at LCB who was probably a regen that was cut by one of the big Serie A teams
...a quick German right back from Red Bull who can also play some RCB
...Sinan Gümüs, a German midfield of Turkish heritage that wasn't starting at Galatasaray but could fill in as a super-pacey left-footed replacement for Iheanacho for me. Need to develop his finishing more.
Here's what the team looks like right now:
FUTHead didn't have Coetzee in its database, and he usually plays where Ndoye is... and Ndoye moves inside to the spot Karl is at.

How has Simon been performing for you? I bought him back when I was still in the Championship with Derby. He bagged a ton of goals, but he never grew so now he's just a squad player for me.

How does that FUTHEAD site work? Does it link to your EA account and automatically track your actions within the game?

He's now my best scoring threat, although Julian has scored three times in my first two matches of Season 3. I've trained him almost every week since I got him. I like him because he can play the CF or the RW in my system now that I've trained him up.

No, it's got a custom squad builder where you can search and drop in players' FUT cards and edit them to whatever you want.
People use the standard builder to visualize FUT lineups before they decide to go forward with squad building.

Sounds like a lot of work

Nah, it only took me about 10 minutes to do that one.
Posted on 2/10/16 at 7:18 pm to WarSlamEagle
Dumb question but how do you train players?
Posted on 2/10/16 at 7:22 pm to cwil177
There's a big section at the bottom left of the main page in career mode. You can train up to five players, either playing mini games or simming them (I do the latter) once every seven days.
High potential players grow attributes the quickest, and younger players generally grow quicker than older ones.
It's a good way to decide how you want to build your team... Either build up your starters, focus on young reserves, or build up the youth academy.
Players still naturally progress like in old games due to form and age and such, but this is a better way of doing it.

I use a spreadsheet calculator to get correct ratings for each stat. That takes me about an hour.

I just eyeball it. Pace is a mix of acceleration and speed, shooting is mainly finishing with some of the others, and dribbling is ball control and dribbling by my system.
