I hate to say anything really nice about ESPN in general however they are light years ahead of FOX in their broadcasts of soccer. The Euro/Copa America contrasted with one another this year really highlight this fact.

I just hope this style of coverage isnt what FOX has in mind for the 2018 WC.

NBC's soccer coverage has also been 100000000000000x better than FOX.

Fox Sports soccer coverage has been borderline disrespectful in my opinion with their 'facts' about countries in Copa America. Rob Stone has been garbage and Alexi gonna Alexi. ESPN and any foreign coverage is far better.

John Brooks is my hero.

FOX production quality has been a dumpster fire so far. Is it that hard to have a player card with a picture/club/age/hometown? It's a disservice to everyone to not teach people about the players. No picture for sideline reporter- just a NAME and a Twitter handle.

Not to mention the camera cuts. We have huge controversy with the ref clearly going on and they keep it zoomed in on a player away from the action. It's like they only have 4 or 5 different camera shots. That number needs to double by WC. The announcers sound seem to .5 behind video. COVERAGE has been complete crap and the announcing adds nothing to the broadcast

I don't think they're even sending their broadcasting crews to the games. Doesn't seem like it if they are.

That would fall in line with how FS1 does weeknight college football games.

The only sport that Fox covers better than ESPN is the NFL. Fox's overall sports coverage is truly horrendous.

Lalas and Stu have been the only good things about Fox's coverage. Landy actually showed some personality last night, hoping he keeps that up.

I have some issues with how Fox handles which channel they put games on in general with their soccer coverage. Wish their streaming service was better, but I also think people are a little harsh about it all. I think they were just trying to get their feet wet and get a lay of the land. I heard they caught a decent amount of interest for their Bundesliga matches, so hopefully next year they find a way to put more games on television.

ESPN soccer match and tournament coverage is far, far superior to their ESPN FC horseshite and that website.

I've been saying this for years.

So glad NBC took the reigns on the premier league.

Fox has no control of the camera cuts. They do not do the filming or cutting. Every network gets access to the same feed, done by the tournament organizers. All Fox does is their own graphics.

Edit: That being said ESPN and NBC soccer coverage is still light years ahead.

Fox has been showing soccer for well over 15 years now.

Their shite has always sucked and it was okay because the other option was watching a shitty stream in Arabic or Russian.

But why does the picture look much shittier? I get the whole everybody uses the same feed, but it doesn't look that way.

It looks to me like the same picture quality you always get from fox. I'm not sure that it's actually worse then ESPN or NBC or anything. I agree that it feels worse, but I'm not sure if it's just I really prefer the graphics packages/scoreboard formatting so much more then I do foxes or it's actually worse picture quality.

If you watched a stream of Copa and the Euros side by side with no scoreboard graphics or anything. I don't know that you would see much difference picture quality wise.
