ESPN really put a lot of work into their EURO 2016 coverage

They hired the massively talented Abby Wambach to be featured in the host panel... Thats awful. I actually enjoyed their world cup coverage but im sure they paid a lot for the euros and it looks like an MLS saturday from 10 years ago

she's fricking terrible.

also - is that just a greenscreen behind them? Are they still in Bristol and just pulling a "live here in (faux) France.."

No, they are definitely in France. They might be using the green screen backdrop temporarily because their original set location was under a lot of water from the flooding. I think I read that they are hoping to be back to their original spot next week.

Didn't they have to relocate last second because of flooding? Might be thrown together. Thought I read a post they would move in a week or so. Could be wrong.

I don't follow coverage anymore, I watch the bit that leads to the opening game and then only the games. It's a lot better usage of my time that way.

Pairing Martinez and Abby is such a waste of Roberto

It's awkward to watch, which is what happens when you put someone on TV with no personality or meaningful insight

Maybe she will get a DUI on the way back to the hotel.

She struggles to put sentences together. It's horrid.

As much as I hate ESPN, their coverage of foreign events is top notch. They have done an amazing job with both tennis and soccer. I've never seen Wambach as an analyst, so maybe ESPN just wanted a popular personality who would cater to casual fans without realizing how terrible she was. I'll give them a pass, but if she is back after this tournament, they deserve some ridicule.

I'm not trying to be dramatic, but it makes the pre/post almost unwatchable. Tirico can at least keep it moving, and then Roberto is pretty polished. Then they kick it to Abby and its "uhh, wow, yeah one of the best, uh, headers i've uh, seen in the past...two days, uh, just really good."
