Shitty injury. I didn't see it happen but heard it was non contact, which is pretty normal. It's amazing how much conditioning you do to make sure your legs are in shape and how in a split second your knee can just give out. I still have a 3-4cm difference between my upper leg muscles 8+ months out from my surgery.

you could tell by the "oh shite" look on his face when it happened that the injury was significant.

You would be surprised how loud those things pop. When mine did I had people ten yards behind me who heard it and thought it was the sound of me colliding with another player, when in reality we didn't even touch and it was just my ACL. Makes me hurt just thinking about it.

It's amazing how benign these injuries can look. And then other times your leg does a 90 degree bend in the wrong direction.

6 months seems like a really short recovery time for an ACL.

It is.

I bet if Stu had actually waited a year before trying to come back he'd be playing next season without any problem.
