Yeah, unless something is going on behind the scenes, we are pretty much doomed. Our reserve players for certain positions are starters at other positions. We have a super thin squad.
GK: Courtois, Caballero, Eduardo
CB: Cahill, Luiz, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rüdiger, Omeruo (rumored to be on the way out)
LWB: Alonso, Kenedy (Maybe?)
RWB: Moses, Azpilicueta
CM: Kante, Fabregas, Bakayoko (out for at least a month), Matic (Maybe?)
LW: Hazard (out for at least a month), Musonda (Maybe?)
RW: Willian, Pedro
ST: Costa (LOL), Batshuayi
So these are the guys that we have now that could probably actually see some meaningful action. I feel great about GK. We essentially have 5 CBs, one who is actually a RB-turned-LB-turned-CB and two who haven't played any meaningful minutes in the Premier League. Our RWB is actually a RW (who admittedly did alright last season) that could easily be upgraded, and his backup starts at CB (this doesn't help for squad rotation). I like Alonso at LWB, but it seemed like Kenedy had no future at the club just a few months ago. Do we not have a backup there, or has Kenedy's outlook changed? Midfield is dismal. We have a few great players, but we have no depth. If Matic leaves, we are really screwed. Gone are the days when we had guys like Ramires, Mikel, etc to come on and kill a game off. On the wings, I feel okay, as long as Hazard gets healthy quickly and Musonda is ready to go. Striker is becoming a real concern. Diego Costa clearly does not care at all, even if he's stuck here until January. We need to bring somebody in ASAP.

Yeah. Both of them could be upgraded, but we need to upgrade Moses. He started the season well, but he faded most of the year. His dive that for sure cost us any chance of the FA Cup made him dead to me.

Yeah. We've been rumored with a lot of guys. It's just a matter of getting deals over the line, which our board has shown it struggles to do at times (Lukaku). Danilo, a striker, and a another midfielder (even if it's just a squad player) are musts IMO.

It does feel like Kenedy is being given a long chance to find a spot, and if nothing else could help depth at rw and rwb.
Danilo would be able to help on both sides and calm me down a little, though is only an upgrade by default.
Im cool with our backline if at least one wing back, pref one who could switch sides, comes in.
The other 2/3rds is a mess. Excited to see musonda given a chance. He looked really great his first spell at Betis.

RLC never really impressed me. He is still young though so the jury is still out imho.

RLC fills a need. I like him more as a box to box guy rather than a number 10.

Chalobah made a greater impression on me than any of rlc's appearances, but alas.
Hopefully he gets some mins and puts it together. Really want some of these academy kids to stick.

Yep. At worst he's a free option behind Kante and Baka which we don't have at the moment.
