Or are we more of a set piece/counter attacking team?

Apparently Jurgen wants us to take it to Ireland and maintain more possession, but after really failing to do so during his tenure thus far I am starting to get skeptical.

Do we have the technical players necessary for possession? What about tactically astute players? What's holding us back from implementing a possession based game that allows us to go after our opponents instead of hunkering down and being reactionary?

Vs Ireland I don't see why not. We are a better squad. But using this long term like Pep is running the show we just don't have the talent yet.

Good to practice for when we go up on teams by a goal or two.

Against Ireland? Sure. The same goes for most CONCACAF teams. It is just not realistic when the USMNT plays teams like Colombia.

I mean, we've been controlling possession against CONCACAF teams since the days of Bruce.

I really want us to have a unique style. A combination of Latin flair and European pragmatism. We have the potential with athleticism and tactics to be a very formidable team. It will take time, but I see us doing great things in the future.
