Buy a starter at CB with Kosc. Gabriel is cover. Per is emergency cover/cup player. Unfortunately I think we'll end up with what we've got. Hopefully Gabriel takes the next step.

Arseblog wrote that they gave Holding a first team number (16). So, I think that is our CB purchase. It will be Kos and Gabs, then Mert, then Holding will be the emergency CB. Having said that, they only spent $2 million on him, so I would think they wouldn't hesitate to get a starter if one came along.

Maybe he's finally learned to stop overrunning everything.

Just rumors. His agent has denied any interest from Arsenal.

Agents deny interest often. I'm guessing we are in for him. Not sure if we will get him. Would be a perfect fit. An Alexis-Ozil-Mahrez trio is nice.

Or, if Ox comes good or Theo finds form, one of those on the left with Alexis or Theo up top could work.

Interesting that we played Campbell and Serge up top yesterday. I guess we don't have any other strikers around but still.

Serge

He looked decent. He stands the chance to contribute as he's a good player, a bit on the fringe like Campbell, but a good and versatile player nonetheless.

Arsenal are plotting bids to sign Riyad Mahrez and Alexandre Lacazette for combined £75million. [@MirrorFootball]

Why I hate this shite. Can't tell what's for real over there. And a lot is just click bait.

But we desperately need some goals.

There are also reports Mahrez is on the way to London. I feel though I will be let down.

Being an Arsenal supporter during the transfer window is downright painful. So many targets but no signings. It's maddening.

Would Lacazette be a sub for Giroud? I think

Giroud
Sanchez Özil Mahrez

Would be filthy.

I can't see Lacazette as an upgrade on Giroud but hopefully he can be an alternative and score goals when Giroud hits his dry patches.

Giroud is a very good EPL striker. Just hits the skids for stretches. He carried us early last year and is capable of hot periods too.

I think it depends on form and the opponent. I wouldn't say either one is the absolute starter.

I see Laca being similar to Welbeck, used more in games where we may need more counter attacking and defensive work from our striker. I also imagine he'd be a great sub to press against a tiring defense later in a match.
