Anyone got a crack at the Basel XI tomorrow?

My guess.

Ospina
Bellerin-Mustafi-Kosc-Gibbs
Elneny-Xhaka
Ox-Cazorla-Iwobi
Perez

Gabriel might get in there for one of the CBs. Don't think Holding starts.

Gibbs deserves minutes, Monreal could use a rest.

Elneny against his former club. Xhaka into the team.

Perez will start up top with Giroud suspended. I'm guessing we rest Ozil and Alexis, and Ox will play for either Walcott or Iwobi, I'd guess Walcott since he went the full 90 this weekend and Iwobi got subbed off.

That's not a bad lineup but just imagine the backlash if we lose the game without Alexis or Özil
I think Alexis does play tomorrow because he was subbed Saturday, but with Özil I would love to see him rested for a game.

And this is probably me being a little too hopeful but I'd love to see Ox in the playmaker role like he had against Milan several years back. Cazorla might (unfortunately) have to be dropped for this to be a possibility though

Ox is very limited. His decision making is poor. He provides no end product. About all he can do is dribble a bit. I had high hopes when we signed Ox but he hasn't improved at all. Look if he can turn it around like Theo has so far this season then great. I think he is close to playing himself out of the club at the moment.

I find changing the team for a Champions League match a bit odd. I'm not disagreeing with getting guys some rest, but in general, it doesn't make sense. The argument for attracting players is playing in the Champions League is a huge factor. It is the biggest trophy possible. We have a guaranteed 6 matches in the CL, and it's a given that there will be some squad rotation. It just seems backwards to me.

OZIL SIGNED A NEW DEAL

Apparently we will give him No. 10, too.

Love you, Mesut.

Damn dude. I guess Wilshere is gone then? Poor guy. Loved him. I don't see him agreeing to a jersey change unless he was on the way out.

Apparently the No. 10 is still in talks. Will probably depend on Wilshere. Wouldn't happen until next year anyway.

Jack is on loan for a reason. It is a business decision to see if he can stay healthy for a season. So far he is not seeing the pitch very much.

Mesut is absolutely central to the future. He is a world class player, in spite of his critics.

I'm going to be pissed if Ozil and Sanchez miss the champions league home opener. They don't play Burnley until Sunday and then international break. No reason they should be resting tomorrow. Sanchez didn't even play the full 90 against Chelsea.

Cech really should be starting tomorrow also, but I know Wenger will start Ospina. They better not frick this group up, they need to finish top.

Best #10 in the world should get to wear #10 imo.

Are all idiots. He is a top 3 player in the EPL.

Hoping to continue our rather devastating form. I can see resting Cech, Nacho and Kos resting, play the attackers and then sub them out with a nice lead.

Top 3 is hard to pick. Probably Aguero, Ozil, De Bruyne/Sanchez.

I would say Koscienly is the best defender in the league also.

well outside of cech he went with a full starting lineup. Glad he's not messing around in the champions league. That's what EFL games are for.

Yep. I dont know anything about Basel's squad. I don't think they've lost this year but obviously they play in an inferior league.
