nooooooooooope

sanogo gives effort but he's even less likely to score than giroud. still, he probably needs to start. wish we'd start gnabry but arsene seems very reluctant to at this point.

Kallstrom was solid.

Arteta, on the other hand, was standing around on the last goal and watched the runner walk, not run, but literally walk by him. I'm not sure why I called him the runner actually, more like the walker. Yeah, Arteta let the walker go by him when he should have doubled up. That goal in all likelihood wouldn't have happened.

The give away, silly foul, and terrible awareness/marking were all such shite. Couldn't believe they imploded like that so close to the end.

it's tiring trying to explain why arteta is better than flamini, now i'm supposed to explain why he should start in a match versus a title contender over a guy who has played 20 minutes for us/in the BPL and is coming off a broken back?

if you're placing the blame on arteta for that goal, i don't know what to say.

Giroud sucked again today and simply he is not good enough for Arsenal Football Club. Him, as well as stupid give aways by the midfielders, cost us this game. I cannot wait til Ramsey and Flamini are starting alongside each other once more.

Giroud scored 1 goal, he didn't let in 2. You were saying this same shite about arteta. Who had a great game, no one to pass to. Really I'm looking at ox and carzorla. They did nothing for me and both were guilty of giving it away. They got crowded out and over powered in the middle. Sagna was OK. Gibbs was great. He can be weak on d at times but he actually put in good crosses and worked his tail off.

I know people have been down on arteta, but without him we have no midfield, we can't rely on the likes of wilshere and ramsey to carry this team when they are always hurt.

Throw in Theo and we are basically left with only half of our starters. The drop in quality is immense.

Things are falling apart quickly but I want to stay positive. 3rd is still attainable and the FA Cup is Arsenal's to lose. After that Villa defeat we all would take that. Bowing out of a very winnable title race sucks but injuries always prove to be killer, something needs to change there.

I would've liked to see Santi in the middle and Gnabry wide to give Rosicky some rest. 3 games in 7 days for Rosicky with his injury history and age is asking for trouble. Kallstrom looked quite good, I thought Arsenal were going to win that foul just outside the box and see Kongo Kim work his magic. Terrible result though, very deflating.

I just don't see how 3rd place is still a possibility after what happened today. Liverpool will be 5 points clear of us in 3rd place after they destroy Sunderland tomorrow, and there is just no way that we will be 6 points better off than Liverpool over our last 7 games to be able to come 3rd. Losing to teams like Liverpool and Chelsea is one thing, but not being able to beat these teams like Stoke and Swansea is what has us now fighting just to get 4th place and stay in the Champions League for next season!

And anybody who thinks that we're still not in trouble of finishing 5th is kidding themselves.

Some might look at the league table and see that we are 6 points clear of Everton and 7 points clear of Tottenham and think that we're fine. But when you consider that we're likely to lose to Manchester City and Everton are likely to win at Fulham this weekend, that gap quickly shrinks to 3 points. Then when you consider Everton have a game in hand at home against Crystal Palace, then they are right there even with us with a win in that game. The bottom line is if we lose at Everton in 2 weeks time, we will be fighting for our lives just to get 4th in the end.

The positive to all of this is what Arsenal have left and what Everton have left after we play each other.

Arsenal: West Ham (H), Hull City (A), Newcastle (H), West Brom (H), Norwich City (A)

Everton: Sunderland (A), Crystal Palace (H), Manchester United (H), Southampton (A), Manchester City (H), Hull City (A)

Arsenal have by far the easier run in of the two teams, so I'm still fairly confident of a Top 4 finish. You can never assume a win in any game based on our current form, but those are 5 games we should be winning. 15 points from those 5 games puts us at 78 points in the end. There is no way in hell that 78 points misses out on the Top 4 and the Champions League for next season.

This is what I'm hoping anyway. Still a long way to go. It's just a shame that Arsenal are in this precarious position because of our own self-inflicted wounds this season.

What Gibbs offers us going forward is more than worth the defensive liability. He was by far our best player. Ideally someone in the midfield would cover for him.

But I still love my Gunners and will stay optimistic for the rest of the season.

Hoping they win their first trophy since becoming a fan! I began following soccer during the 2006 World Cup.

Damn, y'all are in fricking meltdown mode.

Granted, I turned the match off after the first goal, so 2-2 draw didn't rub me quite as bad.

Look, let's be really honest with ourselves.

Our two best players are not playing (Rambo and Mesut). Add in Theo, who to me is our most important player in the attack (his speed and width change everything we do), Kosc (one of the elite CBs in the Prem, IMO, and vastly underrated to Mertesacker's slight overrated-ness [still love Per]), and Jack, who is a spark and can take over a game.

It's just not our season to compete for the title. We've done well to get where we are in the FA Cup and NEED to win that. As far as league play goes, no, matches like yesterday aren't acceptable results, but we still control our destiny for top four.

We get out of this injury nightmare with hardware and a spot in next year's CL, and we splash cash this summer, and all will be fine.

Granted, I didn't watch yesterday, so I don't have to deal with the frustration, but let's not freak out.

We probably can't get a result vs. City, but a result vs. Everton would be massive, and the rest of our fixtures are winnable, right as we'll be getting healthier.

Unless Ramsey, Theo, and Mesut all intentionally injured themselves, this isn't the case.

The struggles of late are, IMO, because of the following (in order):

1. Injuries
2. Failure to buy sufficient depth in the summer, particularly at striker and DM
3. Arsene's mismanagement in big matches

Arsene's made some bone-fricking-headed moves this year. One match he plays it too safe, the next he plays a high line against the most athletic front in the Prem. I don't know if its injuries or pressure or just his nature (I haven't followed Arsenal long enough to know), but it's been a big part of dropping points.

For example, and yes it's hindsight, but Flamteta would have been perfect for Chelsea, while Ox-Arteta would have been better for yesterday. Chelsea were going to press and attack; Swansea were going to sit deep and concede, leaving Ox freedom to attack and run.

Dropping 2 points to a horrific own goal is certainly a self-inflicted wound, right?

Just to clarify what I meant, we are in the position now of fighting for Top 4 because of our own doing of needlessly dropping points from winning positions or in games we really should have no business losing. This has nothing to do with injuries, etc., as those are the overall reasons for having the squad necessary to contend for the title, which is not what I was referring to really.

We led 1-0 at home to Everton, 2-1 at Southampton and 2-1 at home to Swansea yesterday only to draw all 3 of those games. That's an easy 6 dropped points right there.

I'm not referring to injuries, etc., as to the reasons we're not capable of winning the title this year. Only pointing out the facts of what points we have dropped that now have us fighting to stay in the Top 4.

Ugh like when you are up 2-1 and put sonogo in when in reality you should have brought in another defender, fricking bellerin or jenks.
