I haven't watched Sunderland this year. Will Yedlin actually play?

I'd think so. Advocatt likes pace at fb. Billy Jones and van anholdt have been horrible defending so far. Cattermole has been absolute shite since his new contract giving up several huge dumb penalties in the holding role. Yann M'Vila however has been a model citizen and playing lights out and he, rodwell, and Ola toveron(Sp?) will likely push him out. I honestly think a big club will give m'vila another chance if he continues.

Advocatt is a great teacher and isn't afraid to pull the complacent old guard of the last few years out. It's going to take a bit 9f time for all the new faces to gel but the newer players like m'vila and Jermain lens are significantly better.

Yedlin is decent in a forward position though.

West Brom calling out Spurs over the Berahino thing.
quote:

Peace said: “We have a key player who has been very unsettled by antics which were designed to get him out of our club cheaply.

"Those tactics have continued despite my making our position clear in my first conversation with Daniel Levy on this subject in mid-August.

“I said selling Saido so late in the window was not on our agenda.

“Tottenham’s offers failed substantially to reflect Saido’s true value while the timing made no allowance for our own recruitment of a suitable replacement for a proven Premier League goalscorer.

Peace is doing everything he can to paint us as the bad guys. I'm not sure how people will react to the situation as a whole, and I'm obviously somewhat biased, but I think it is easy to see that the way West Brom handled this was absolutely trash. They are now feeling the repercussions with Saido refusing to play.

United's statement on De Gea:

quote:

Manchester United notes Real Madrid’s statement on the attempt to sign David De Gea and sell Navas to Manchester United. The Club feels compelled to provide some clarification with the following facts.

• Manchester United did not seek contact from Real Madrid for the sale of David. David is a key member of our squad and the club’s preference was not to sell.

• No offer was received for David until yesterday.

• At lunchtime yesterday, Real Madrid made its first offer to buy David. A deal was agreed between the clubs, which included Navas being transferred to Old Trafford. The deals were dependent on each other.

• In the last several hours of the process, with Navas at the Real Madrid training ground, Real Madrid were controlling the documentation processes of David, Navas and Real Madrid. Manchester United was in control only of the documentation of Manchester United.

• Manchester United sent transfer documents for both players to Real Madrid at 2042 BST. David’s documentation was returned by Real Madrid to Manchester United without the signatory page at 2232 BST.

• At 22:40 BST, minutes before the deadline, major changes to the documentation came through to Manchester United which immediately put the deals at risk.

• Only at 2255 BST were the documents that are needed to cancel David’s contract received by Manchester United from Real Madrid.

• At this point Navas’ documentation was still not returned by Real Madrid.

• At 2258 BST, the transfer agreement was sent back by Manchester United, uploaded onto TMS and accepted – all before the deadline.

• It is our understanding that the deals couldn’t happen because:

- Real Madrid didn’t upload David’s documents onto TMS in time (Manchester United did)

- Real Madrid didn’t upload David’s documents to the Spanish league in time, per reports it seems some 28 minutes after the deadline • The fact that Manchester United filed the papers on time was acknowledged by the Football Association, who offered to support that claim in any discussions with FIFA. The Club offered this assistance, as well as its own timestamped documents to Real Madrid but they have chosen not to go down this route.

Manchester United acts appropriately and efficiently in its transfer dealings. The Club is delighted that its fan-favourite double Player of the Year, David de Gea, remains a Manchester United player.

TL;DR: It's not our fault.

Celtic's Serb has been loaned to Getafe.

ETA: Michu's agent is still trying to sell him to Celtic.

'Appropriately and efficiently' does not equal panic buy.

Every buy since SAF left seems like a panic buy.

Do you really not understand that they're talking about professionalism and how they handle paperwork? I mean the entire article is about that. Damn man you really need to learn context clues.

The article has absolutely nothing to do with overpaying/underpaying/making shrewd decisions.

He was playing off of United saying it was efficient in transfers when they bought a 19-year-old for an exorbitant amount of money. He wasn't being literal.
