Joel graduated in 92. I graduated in 91 and Mrs. Ramona Smith was my 4th grade teacher at the time of Connie's murder. Very nice family, have known them most of my life. I still stay in touch with Joel. Small world....

Agreed, in situations such as these I have never understood the logic of allowing a serial murderer to decide his fate. He is a control freak and wins even going to a life sentence. He continues to maintain control of his situation. He obviously didn't have to much problem in his first jail stint...

Often in a state like Louisiana kids see LSU everywhere and like to be the primadona and go out of state. They get much more attention for leaving the state rather than staying at the obvious choice.
