| Tiger Rant|| re: The myth that Wisconsin "stopped running the ball" in the second half - hogeb on 9/1/14 at 8:37 pm|
LSU wanted to stop Wisconsin's running game without selling out against it, but that didn't work. They kept trying to "fix" the mistakes the dine and lbers were making all the way through the first series of the second half before making the adjustment to move more defenders to the line to fill the ...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Anthony Jennings is/will be legit - hogeb on 8/31/14 at 9:42 am|
I agree, I like what we saw from AJ last night. He stayed calm and worked through some adversity to make some good plays. He showed a good awareness of game situations and made good decisions. Once the screen game is ironed out, he will be fine....
| Tiger Rant|| re: Is there enough time for Harris to win the job game 1? - hogeb on 7/26/14 at 9:29 am|
I hate to say it, but I think the experience with J. Lee has made Les skittish about starting freshmen. I think he will work Harris in slowly just to build his confidence in real game situations. He may give Harris a couple of series in the Wisconsin game to get his feet wet, but I don't see him sta...

I'm most interested in seeing how the defensive players are utilized. Particularly Beckwith, Feist, and Louis at linebacker. But also Herron, Bain, and Gilmore on the DL. I'm hoping to see players settle in to their best positions, and I'm anxious to see how Chavis puts it all together....

This is a great article that really puts things in perspective. These are kids living their dream. The parents are proud as peacocks, and the schools care about the kids and want what's best for them. For fans to become jaded about "the process" and post negative comments about these kids is asinine...

After reading that article I think he would flourish under a coach like Miles. He needs a players coach who makes playing fun. Hope he feels the same way.

I agree with this list, plus there may be a chance to add Pfau and McCray. We can only hope for Jackson or Carter....
| Tiger Rant|| re: Calipari gives LSU all the credit - hogeb on 1/29/14 at 6:58 pm|
Yes, I remember that about Brown. That's why I respected him so much and enjoyed rooting for him. From what I gather from following KentuckySportsRadio (I grew up in KY but attended LSU), Calipari is similar, though he doesn't have the length of career, so I wouldn't say he has done as much, but I ...

He's actually a lot like Dale Brown, in my opinion, and I really liked Dale Brown. He may not always toe the NCAA line, but he does right by his players....
| Tiger Rant|| re: LSU vs UK 1/28 - hogeb on 1/28/14 at 8:10 am|
LSU seems to be getting respect from KY fans. This is from KentuckySportsRadio:
[quote]LSU has two really good bigs in Johnny O’Bryant and freshman Jordan Mickey, who was named to the Wayman Tisdale Watch List for best freshman of the year, along with Julius Randle and James Young. Cal called O’B...
| Tiger Rant|| re: LSU vs UK 1/28 - hogeb on 1/28/14 at 7:29 am|
Yeah, I did mean Young. I have dyslexia with those two, I don't know why. I grew up in Richmond, though I haven't lived there for over 30 years. I try to keep up with KY BB, somewhat. I agree that they seem to be coming together, and I think they likely beat LSU by between 5 - 10, but if they are vu...
| Tiger Rant|| re: LSU vs UK 1/28 - hogeb on 1/26/14 at 10:08 pm|
KY is not as good on the road as at home, so there's a chance, though a slim one. The Harrison twins are getting better, and that's a bad sign for LSU. Cauly-Stein also broke out of his slump against Georgia, so he could be dangerous. KY may be finally settling in as a team and not a group of freshm...
| LSU Recruiting Board|| re: LSU Is Going To Land Three More 5 Stars In This Class - hogeb on 1/26/14 at 10:44 am|
I think we are fairly likely to get Dupre, Valentine, Kelly, and Trey L. I have my fingers crossed for Adoree, Carter, and Young, but would be pleasantly surprised by any of them. I also think we will pull 2-3 others, depending on whether we get any of the three or none, from Porter, Granier, Gage, ...

| LSU Recruiting Board|| re: Let's finish #1 in recruiting!! - hogeb on 1/7/14 at 6:14 am|
LSU is in on a lot of national recruits and often finishes 2nd, but we finish first quite often, too. I'd say our ratio is better than most. Not being able to get all of the best high school players in the country every year is not a bad problem to have....
| LSU Recruiting Board|| Matt Elam in play? - hogeb on 1/4/14 at 10:24 am|
Valentine is going to visit UK. Kentuckysportsradio is suggesting that it may be due to his friendship with Matt Elam. They say Elam and Valentine have developed a good friendship and may want to play together ([link=(http://kentuckysportsradio.com/main/three-of-the-many-reasons-why-matt-elam-will-p...

I think there are tiers of need and likelihood.
If we can get any 7 of these players, we'll have a very strong recruiting class
