The owners of the machines will be insanely wealthy
Maybe you are right, but if there are enough "robot owners" in competition they might not make as much profit as you seem to favor. When something becomes more abundant, the value eventually decreases.
From the wealth that automation and robots create.
But isn't wealth a result of value to society?
What value is labor if it is handled by machines who can work basically 24 hours a day and take care of it at very low cost?
There are competing ideas here.
One the one ha...

Suppose a basic income is instituted.
Where will the money come from if no one is working?
I don't think we will be able to tax the robots.
Googling basic income and reviewing several websites, I see a lot of support and enthusiasm for basic income, but not much in the way of explanation of...

Not much is necessary. They just have to avoid big screw ups.
Reagan (not without his faults ie deficit spending) hit it out of the park in many ways, but he was lucky in a sense the he had Carter tee things up for him by doing so horribly that the next guy was going to look better no matter wha...

I agree this is a ridiculous judgment.
Not sure what this has to do with determination of liability in a liberterian-anarchist society.
Seems liability would still be defined by some legal standard, with interpretation as needed by judiciary.
If you travel too far over the l-a line, there i...

I would say this injury typically does not cause loss of vision. Double vision while looking upward maybe or maybe not.
As for swelling, there are a lot of variables. I don't think you can tell too much based on that, especially in the first several minutes.
All this being said, it's possibl...

Seems logical on the surface.
But as someone who has dealt with facial fractures, I can tell you that it's not that easy to tell by simply looking or by physical exam. There's usually a lot of swelling at first. After the swelling goes down, the patient may complain of double vision, but not ev...
