| LSU Recruiting Board|| re: What do in-state O-lineman look like next year...................... - TigerScribe on 12/15/14 at 12:28 pm|
Another possibility is Donavaughn Campbell from Ponchatoula. He's Christian Campbell's brother. Depending on what source you go by, he's between 6-4 and 6-6 in height and between 330-360 in weight, though I think he's dropped some weight from that 360 point.
I believe he was a defensive lineman ...

| Coaching Changes|| re: Why would any coach go from the nfl to ncaa? - TigerScribe on 12/4/14 at 6:37 pm|
I can think of a few reasons. Don't have to deal with pro athletes, some of whom make more than the coach. Don't have to deal with salary cap issues that limit what you can do roster wise. Instead of dealing with possible limits of draft position, you can just go out and recruit the guys you want. A...

I don't think Miles is going anywhere, but not because of this. Any coach in his situation who is orchestrating a move will be business as usual until he's ready to announce. ...

| Tiger Rant|| re: Who takes La'el's and Rasco's (possibly Danielle's) starting positions next year - TigerScribe on 11/28/14 at 5:36 pm|
If Hawkins stays, I think he slides over to LT. If he leaves, I think Pocic is the likely LT.
If Hunter leaves, I think Bower will be one DE starter, and the other DE spot will be filled by either Neal, Teheuma or Clark. ...

To the poster who said we run a pro system, do you watch good passing offenses in the NFL? They do a lot of things we don't normally try to do much or at all. Things like:
-multiple receiver sets to spread the defense out and force the defense to commit an extra player or two to coverage.
| Tiger Rant|| re: The Grass is Not Always Greener - TigerScribe on 11/16/14 at 5:55 pm|
Ok. Let's just keep throwing on third and long out of max protect run formations with few guys running routes. Because it certainly isn't possible to vary your scheme and approach and ask for just a little bit of imagination and adjustment from a $4.3 million salary head coach and a $1 million-plus ...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Fire Jeff Grimes - TigerScribe on 11/16/14 at 5:24 pm|
Because the root problem isn't the o-line. It is weak QB play and the staff's desire to hide the QB instead of try to develop him.
Arky not only played 8 & 9 man fronts, they ran a lot of run blitzes out of it. They did not respect or fear our ability to pass. No o-line can deal with that from a ...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Honest question: What's the reaction if Les Miles is shockingly fired today? - TigerScribe on 11/16/14 at 1:08 pm|
Miles has a $15 million buyout. He's going nowhere. Plus, they aren't going to can him for one struggling season after winning 33 games over the prior three seasons.
Now, if they lose the final two games AND drop into the abyss next season, then you might see efforts toward negotiating a smaller...

Even if Alexander and Hawkins leave early, there are a number of talented young OL waiting their turn who will step in and, I think, do a solid job. Guys like Boutte, Dodd, Dormond, Malone, Brumfield and Clapp would all contend for starting jobs.
My concern is with depth behind them. It will hav...

Mills and Collins can leave early. The NFL will like Collins because of his height, length and versatility.
White and Robinson can't leave yet. They are true sophomores. One more year for both.
Martin is a senior. I know he's been maligned at times, but he's also made some plays. He has a good...
