re: Looking for local BR gunsmith to install recoil pad on rifle - lsu1987
I could certainly do it myself if I got a recoil pad that was a perfect fit, but what are the chances of that? How does the OB suggest grinding it down to make it look good. I have a drill and grinding bit?? I will give Dale Givens a call too. Thanks!...

Looking for local BR gunsmith to install recoil pad on rifle - lsu1987
I called Jim's firearms, and they want $85 to put a recoil pad on an old Marlen 30-30 rifle that I have. Got this gun from my dad which he bought years ago. Probably paid $150 for the rifle, so hoping not to spend half of that just add a recoil pad. Who are some good gunsmiths in the Baton Rouge ...

How much is typically the fee that the local places charge to process and pickup your online purchase? What would Hebert's charge for example if I bought a gun and chose to have it sent to them for pickup?...

Homemade "slat trap" I live on a golf course, just messing around testing my "Survivor Man" skills. Lakes are really deep as they dug them out for fill dirt to build up the lots they sold. Gonna put one down this weekend and let it soak for a week with some kind of bait, see what happens...

Will a catfish trap work in non-moving water in a large pond or lake? - lsu1987
Or do they only work in moving water of a bayou, river, etc? Will they be effective this time of year? Will soap work as bait if the trap soaks for a week upon first setting it out . TIA for any feedback and/or tips.........

re: Deer Rifle with Scope - lsu1987
It's not a question of affording it. But if I only hunt 2-3 times a year, why spend $1500 on a rifle/scope when a $500 set up will kill a deer at 175 yards? You can always go out and spend 3 times as much as you need to, but again, for 2-3 times per year...........
