re: Saints hit matty ice twice..... - bonethug0108
Well he plays DE so he isn't responsible for taking 2 blocks(though it helps when he does). Bunkley and Jenkins are supposed to do that and Bunkley is more of a penetrating NT and Jenkins was still injured through most of the year. So yes that definitely could have an issue with Jordan getting do...

re: Saints hit matty ice twice..... - bonethug0108
Hicks is a guy that flashes, but not a dominator(though many of us thought he could develop into one). He did so again a few times this year, but it seems his presence in taking up doubles was lost this year(though I didn't particularly look for that all year). And I called Edebali in the offseas...
Seems like maybe this sort of off-season stuff is more your forte
Two fold reason. First, I don't like to "jinx" the season by talking about it too much while it's going on. Second, I definitely like looking at the team building aspect a lot more than the in season coaching aspect. ...

re: Ryan Griffin active, John Jenkins to IR - bonethug0108
Last game of the year and we are trying to sneak more young players on to the PS so we can sign them to futures contracts in the offseason. Smart move especially since this is our last game, and a meaningless one at that....
Matty was getting the ball off in about 2.5 seconds, can't place a lot of blame on the D-Line if that's the case.
This, and it wasn't just this game. Teams knew they could hit quick passes on us all day and that's why numbers are down. I will say that we did have a big problem keepi...

re: $20 mil Over to $20 mil Under the Cap in 3 Easy Steps(and Lose Only 3 Players) - bonethug0108
Not that we were great rushing them, but we got 9 hurries and 3 hits on Ryan, plus Galette drew a holding penalty and we made him throw away 3 passes. Our major issue(same as the first game) was losing contain on Ryan, which is why he had "all day" a few times. That's nothing to do with the rush ...

re: $20 mil Over to $20 mil Under the Cap in 3 Easy Steps(and Lose Only 3 Players) - bonethug0108
I really don't see them being concerned about the Dline enough to go out and get a big FA, and I don't think they add anyone more than a depth player at that spot. Is anyone we bring in really going to start over Jordan, Hicks, or Galette? Maybe someone could rotate with Jenkins if we cut Bunkley...

re: $20 mil Over to $20 mil Under the Cap in 3 Easy Steps(and Lose Only 3 Players) - bonethug0108
I've considered that possibility but it may help us to wait for two reasons. First he would be making about half of what he might average per year on the open market and anytime you can get a break you should take it. Second, he might have another "subpar" year which would certainly lower his ...

re: did anyone else hear the Bengals do a "who dey" chant last night? - bonethug0108
They did "invent" Who Dey in '81. But we were using Who Dat before then and it's actually been around since the 1800s. It was a reply to a knock in old minstrel shows that played down here. [link=(http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whodat)]Who Dat?[/link]...

It's only easy because Loomis set it up that way. It's easy to play with numbers that are there. Knowing how to set them up and how it all fits together in the big picture and in future years is very important. Also there is the actual negotiations and trying to get these things in there. Look...

It is. I made a thread last year before free agency showing some of the same things. We were between $15-20 mil over last year too and we still signed Byrd, Graham, Galette, and several other (cheaper) FAs....

re: Interior of the Oline Pass Blocking: Horrible or Worst Ever? - bonethug0108
Yeah people always try to say we ALWAYS draft Oline late well. We don't. You can NOT look at 2 late gems(4th-7th; Evans and Strief) and one problem player with a first round grade falling(Nicks) and ignore the litany of bad late picks. Armstead is looking good, but he was also a 3rd rounder not a...
Now he has Julius Thomas and Demaryus Thomas.
Emanuel Sanders, Eric Decker(gone now), Wes Welker. Rodgers has a great scheme(wtf we haven't picked up some of their quick timing routes I'll never know) and has had good-great receivers. Brady has really done more with less than any...

Interior of the Oline Pass Blocking: Horrible or Worst Ever? - bonethug0108
Not giving a good option here. Some PFF numbers(not gospel but good for ball parking): Guards/Centers Goodwin- -11.6 overall, -13.5 pass blocking, and +1.3 run blocking Evans- -8.7 ovr, -19.4 pb, and +8.3 rb Grubbs- -1.9 ovr, -2.1 pb, and -2.2 rb Lelito- -0.5 ovr, -2.4 pb, and +2...

I can see that, but the "average" doesn't matter. That's liquid and we can find ways(such as void years) to lessen the hit. It's the guarantees that will be important. While Brady's deal was team friendly, it was also heavily guaranteed. Given Brees' age he will be looking more for guarantees tha...
Like I said earlier, if he's not willing to do a Brady like deal ($15 million per year), let him play out his contract. I think it's worth the risk the Saints take vs. the risk Brees takes. Brees will be 38 when the 2017 season starts, so he'd do better taking an extension with guaranteed money this year than rolling the dice looking for $20 mil+ at 38. So yes he has a HUGE incentive to get an extension....

I get all that, but a) he didn't deserve that pro bowl last year and b) you could say almost the same things about Harper. His play does not justify his salary. If he takes a pay cut I could see him staying. If not he should be cut. I want him cut regardless(and I was a big defender of him last y...
