re: Per NFL network Champ Bailey could be cut - bonethug0108
No chance he gets cut. Like Vince McMahon No Chance theme song no chance. On top of Bailey just being better than most of our other corners, only Lewis, White, and Jean-Baptiste(if he pans out) are capable of being starters(to varying levels of success) and are under contract at least next year(i...

I know you're posing that as a hypothetical but it has less than a zero percent chance of happening. He isn't washed up like every says. This is like the Strief situation all over again. He played hurt and looked bad in 2012, then came back last year and played lights out(and looks great so far i...

Funny thing is, while they both agree Bailey "lost a step", the article writer and the King video RIGHT below the article have wildly different takes on Bailey. Bedard thinks Bailey could get cut, while King said Bailey was very disruptive and will be given every chance to win the starting job. ...
Lee
:yack: From what I've gathered he isn't lighting it up in camp and fellow rookie Allen Robinson is showing out more than him(which doesn't surprise me). They say he is "ahead of schedule" as far as picking things up but I don't put much stock in things like that when most of...

Wow that article is bad. Let's ignore the fact that Bailey has been working mostly with the first string. Let's ignore the fact that White is being cross trained at safety to increase his chances because he won't crack the nickel spot ahead of Bailey or PRob. Let's ignore the fact that Warr...

If you sort just by the passing game he actually ranks 10th. Dude is still very productive. Side note, I have no idea how Stills rated out -5.5 in the passing game when he had a 70% catch rate(same as Colston's) only 1 drop, better YAC, and better YPC. I get that it's more than numbers, but to...

Gotcha. In that case that includes his monster game against Seattle to end the year. Not bad against the "best secondary" in the league. It still also includes Carolina twice, St. Louis, and TB. He did some work. Eagles was actually his worst game over that stretch, but I think it had more to ...

I think I got the edit in just before your post. Maybe a more apt correlation is Brooks getting the job from Blake. I still think Blake was the better player and Brooks proved to be about serviceable after his first year. But Blake was getting older and we went with the hot young thing....

re: Most Improved Player day 3 edition - bonethug0108
I put ready in quotes for a reason. I just meant that he didn't get the starting nod because the coaches thought he was ready. He got it because Brown went on IR and we had no one else. He proved he was ready(to be serviceable) in the games, but that's not the same thing as winning the starting job ...
Last 6 games: 41 receptions, 507 yards
Which means in the first 9 he had 34 receptions and 436 yards. Much better production after resting, and that was with Carolina in 2 out of those 6 final games. Anyone claiming he was done didn't pay attention....
You think we'll keep Toon AND Morgan?
When preseason hits you never know, but I don't see us keeping 3 QBs or 5 HBs this year, meaning we'll likely keep 6 WRs. Colston, Stills, and Cooks are locks, and it's possible we keep Morgan, Toon, and Meachem barring another WR becoming a pre...
Bushrod was in that coveted "Better than Charlie Brown" tier.
Yeah that was basically my point. I don't want Toon to be serviceable. I want him to become at least good. Like at least a little better than Moore was(outside that one year). If anything, I'm trying to be a debbie up...

I agree with the guy that said as long as he's willing to restructure. Technically he has 2 years left and technically we can do some other creative things to get under the cap without even touching him next year. A lot of that will depend on what he does this year though. Despite everyone say...
Hoping Toon could turn out better than Bushrod. Remember him? He was a 4th rd pick but saw just a handful of reps his first two years. IF he was motivated to play hard, sure I would like him back. But the only reason he busted arse so much here was to get that fat contract. More so the severity and recovery from the injuries than the injuries themselves. I didn't mean to imply he wasn't hurt at all though I see how it looks like that. Not to mention the whole reason he left/we let him go is because we didn't trust giving him a big contract. We basically lowballed him not expecting him to stay. Looks like we made to right call. I don't think he wanted to play anyway. The staph just sealed the deal....

From what I've seen the kid is very ready. He's smart and picks things up quick, knows the routes and how to run them, has excellent hands, and is physically ready.
