re: Any good deals on binoculars? - dbllung
I have some 8x30 Steiner's but the eyecups keep breaking and I'm sick of shelling out $50 for replacements. :banghead: I don't think I could hold the 12x42's steady unless I was in a boxstand or had some type of rest. The Vortex's are very bright and I hear the 8x42's are even brighter. Don't kn...

re: Any good deals on binoculars? - dbllung
Just bought two pairs of binoculars. Zeiss Terra ED 10x42 and Vortex Viper HD 10x42. The Zeiss's were $350 with a $50 rebate at Midway USA and the Vortex were $599. I heard so many good things about the Viper's that I had to give them a try. My first take is that the Vortex's are very good. If y...

I have the Terra scope and have no issues with it. I have yet to be disappointed with a Zeiss probuct. To each it's own I guess....

re: Changing ammo after sighting in... - dbllung
I had a 270 WSM. Best bullet for me was the Federal Accubond. Think it had a white tip. Bullet grouped good and performance was unbelievable. Very good blood trails. Used the Barnes Vortex in my 280 and was not as happy with the blood trail (right behind shoulder drops of blood as big as chigge...

Thinking about Apex Covert Pro for a new bow sight - dbllung
Anyone have any experience with the Apex Covert Pro bow sight? I've narrowed it down to this one or the HHA Optimizer sight. The Apex has a military dot (green) with 11 different lighting (darkness) levels. Looks pretty good. Very similar to Trijicon scopes. Here's a picture of it.[img][URL=htt...

re: Trolling Motor...Tiller handle vs remote - dbllung
Thanks for all the responses. I think I'm going to stick to what I know and get the tiller handle. I have a 1860 CC also and I had 12v 52 and it sucked in any kind of wind. I shouldn't have that problem with 80lb thrust 24v....

Yea, it was the salesman. They are both the same price but he said he sells twice as many remote motors than the tiller. Thanks for the reply!...

Trolling Motor...Tiller handle vs remote - dbllung
I need to buy a new trolling motor and the guy says I'd be crazy not to get the one with the remote. It's not the Ipilot, just the one with the basic remote. I've always used a tiller handle and have no problem using it. The only difference is the one with the remote is a 70 lb thrust but the til...
