That's the parish, not the city of BR. ETA: they are all in Ascension and Livingston. .... http://www.nola.com/news/baton-rouge/index.ssf/2013/11/migration_map_of_last_decade_s.html [img]http://imgick.nola.com/home/nola-media/width300/img/nola_river_baton_rouge_news/photo/13779230-mmmain.jpg[...

re: Metro council approves up to 620k to design building - dragginass
Well as fiscally responsible citizens, let's hope it comes in under budget. Also of note is Councilman Heck's comments after the vote Last night. http://blogs.theadvocate.com/cityhallbuzz/2015/03/26/councilman-ryan-heck-st-george-will-save-this-parish-from-financial-ruin/...
It seems silly to suggest that this is some pre-engineered metal building' that can be bought off the shelf?
Ryan Heck asked the Mosquito Abatement person about the square footage. 16k HVAC, 30k storage. Part of the 16k is HVAC space chemical storage. As other posters who know ...

Of course not, I was being facetious. Hangars are just steel buildings though, construction and design costs should be (relatively ) minimal for the project....

re: Metro council approves up to 620k to design building - dragginass
Digging deeper, only 16,000 square feet has HVAC. The remaining 30,000 square feet is storage/hangar. That puts the costs way out of line....

re: Metro council approves up to 620k to design building - dragginass
Maybe it is a non-issue. So the actual cost of the building they want is 8.5 million. They want 620k for design and "construction administration". Still seems steep to me. Part of the 8.5 million is to construct 3 hangars for the spraying planes. They currently rent hangars from the airport...

re: Metro council approves up to 620k to design building - dragginass
Not shocked. It's just funny that the council who recently claimed we were in a "mental health crisis" pulls this crap. For the record, Delgado, Heck, Amoroso, and even Marcelle voted no....

Metro council approves up to 620k to design building - dragginass
Last night the Metro Council approved up to 620k to freaking design a Mosquito Abatement building. The building will cost about 8 million supposedly....but who the hell pays 620k to design an 8 million dollar building? Who is RCL related to.... From the agenda......"Authorizing the Mayor-Pres...

re: Smith&Wesson XD vs. Walther CCP - dragginass
For those of you with the shield 9mm, do you find the slide release exceedingly difficult to operate? I just bought the shield 9mm, and before I shoot it I want to make sure this isn't going to annoy me. I'll sell it if it does. All of my other pistols (1911, xdm, etc) I can operate the slide...

I have a buddy who does concrete coatings for garages, but they can be used outside on patios. Could potentially be a DIY if you're up for it. [img][IMG]http://i1295.photobucket...

re: "St. George" in Deep doo... - dragginass
I personally screwed up a bunch of signatures. We were initially under the impression that if John doe moved in his new house, he could sign the petition and update his voter registration before the petition was verified. That was wrong. We needed to have them update their registration first, the...

re: "St. George" in Deep doo... - dragginass
As I understand, most of the issues surrounded people who actually lived in SG, but either hadn't registered at their new address or hadn't changed names. It would have been nice if SG had done this right before a presidential election, I suspect that is when the voter rolls are most accurate. ...

re: "St. George" in Deep doo... - dragginass
Whatever the number of "valid" signatures is, SG organizers have 2 more months to get more signatures. I doubt there will be enough time to fight "why" certain signatures were invalid. What I find annoying is that to this day, we do not have an answer to how many signatures are actually needed. ...
