re: Drew Brees is the 2nd Most Pressured QB in the NFL - htran90
MRSA infection was bad enough it ate into his nerves and he has pain from just simply walking. For a position that requires immense footwork, he's done for life....

Jenkins is still dealing with a pec injury and he's probably out of shape. He's not even close to 100%, so he can't create a push or hold his ground at all it seems....

Because because, Brees needs to take a pay cut! His 20mil/yr is killing us. We need him to go back to his 6yr/60mil bargain!...
People who want Brees out have no idea how good they have it.
I'll take this Brees that "shoot us in the foot" every other year rather than the QBs of the past that wouldn't even give us a shot at all....

re: Do you even want this team to make the playoffs ? - htran90
Too bad our defense would be the most depleted in the playoffs. Going up against solid interior lineman would be the end of us. I want to see it, but if we go in at 6-10, I honestly rather not make it. That means we're going 2-3 over the last 5 games (Carolina, Tampa Bay, Atlanta, Chicago, ...

Can't blame Loomis on Evans performance/injury/dropoff imo. Most all-pro HOF-caliber lineman can play at a high level til their mid 30s. He paid the arguably best guard in the league at the time in 2010 to a 7yr 56.7mil contract that would make him a Saint for life. Came into the league in 200...

re: Will the Saints cut Morstead this offseason? - htran90
I just don't see losing a top end putner for a gain of +1.2mil in cap. It isn't worth it, there are easier and better ways to make up that 1.2mil. He is a luxury, but losing 2mil in dead money to save 1.2mil is just not good management in this situation. He isn't worth 3.5mil to this team for ...

re: Will the Saints cut Morstead this offseason? - htran90
True, but that is considering we don't have a 400-500k salary player on this team come next year. Even at 1.25mil in savings, you lose 2.15mil in dead money. It just isn't as worthwhile when we lose more in dead money than savings. For underperforming players, anything 1:1 or better is perfect...

re: Drew Brees is useless at this point...too mnany negatives - htran90
Spotting them 7 points still puts us at a tie and the way Brees was pressured all night, if we had the ball first in OT it would probably end like the most of our drives. If they got the ball first, we would have been done or if we couldnt' score a TD we would have lost. Our defense got gashed for s...

re: Will the Saints cut Morstead this offseason? - htran90
Issue is you save 1.25mil by cutting him, down a punter, and you need to then spend 420k on another punter that is rather unknown. You'd save only 800k, but sacrificing a solid punter for an unknown. There are better ways to make 800k. Next year is the better time to do it, not this....

re: Looking at the 2015 cap, who may stay, who may go, who may re-sign? - htran90
Morstead's contract is something I left alone because I have absolutely 0 clue what they'd do. I don't think he'll get cut, but this is something to look at. He is the 3rd highest paid punter (3.65mil) with the highest paid being Colquitt (3.89mil) and 10th highest is Bosher (2.531mil). Another comp...

re: Time for Sean P to go - htran90
Trending down is what Mike Smith is doing right now. Being on a rollercoaster is normal in the NFL, it is a league where a high performing team can go to gutter and vise versa in 1 year (Carolina, Us, Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, etc.) McCarthy has been good as of late, but it isn't like anyone ...

Looking at the 2015 cap, who may stay, who may go, who may re-sign? - htran90
Going into the 2014 offseason, the cap went from an unexpected 123million to 133million. New TV deal will take effect, but most sites are thinking it'll be 140million. Some "insiders" are saying think more along the lines of 145million for 2015 and 160million for 2016. As of right now, we are ...

Well then if he isn't elite, he's in the group on the fence of elite/above average. Harbaughs Carroll McCarthy Payton And you want to give that up for who? Andy Reid? Rex Ryan? Mike Smith? Riverboat Ron? Lovie? Marvin Lewis who is 0-5 in the playoffs in 11 years? Go for a college coach?...

25% is top 8 coaches, that is a lot. What is elite to you, you never answered that. If elite QBs are 5, I would put elite coaches the same since most coaches are tied to their QBs (Brady-Belichick, Payton-Brees, and McCarthy-Rodgers). ...
It's very hard to pay a QB the mega contract and have a contending roster. Good thing they won in 2009. 6/32 is 18.75, it should be more of "address your english" which I can admit I typed it up way too fast to make sense, but sure. if he has the 6th highest win %, elite coaches are not top 25% (top 8), and not top 18.75% (top 6) What is elite? top 2 or 6.25% of coaches? ...
