I made a similar one with homegrown citrus when my kumquat and orange trees were producing. Also added some finely diced jalapeños. +1 on the Champagne vinegar....

It is! Much prefer over OF (my tastes). Some on here have said that it's too "light". That's mainly a product of the spirit used (rye) and trying to make it less sweet by adding less vermouth. The original recipe is for one ounce sweet vermouth and I'm using between a quarter and a third of an ounce...

I dont care for the ketchup topping either. Made one tonight and used tomato paste balsamic vinegar ,soy sauce ,and tobasco with a little pickapeppa and home made wooster. It was good. Also I used half 80/20 beef and half ground pork....
