Why oh why do people do this. Broke my spouse of that shite right quick. You can TRY repetetive applications of beeswax. But I do mean repetetive. Let it soak in and go again next day or so. Mineral oil has been recommended also....

It doesnt have to have a thick fat layer to be great rare. I have even broiled whole breasts skinless and they turned out good. Woodies are very good that way....

Wild duck cooked rare is a wonderful thing! Cook same as tame duck. Grill it, broil it, pan fry it-all rare. They turn out really tasty. Deep fried is good also, for those that like it that way....

If I may suggest, a Gin Buck (Moscow Mule's Daddy) or a Bourbon Buck (the Mule's uncle) would be really nice alternatives.
