In the ULM game I noticed LC in on a tackle and in the backfield disrupting the play, especially when ULM was backed up against the goal line. With our LBs weighing under 240, except Beckwith, we need the DTs to plug the LOS and allow the LBs to flow to the ball. I don't think we want them shootin...

3 missed FGs. UGH!...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Did anyone expect our win over wisconsin would mean so little? - BayouCowboy on 9/18/14 at 8:46 pm|
We've moved up from 13th to 8th with playing lower tier teams and struggling with a Wisky with a new QB and rebuilt D. I'd say we've gotten the right amount of praise. I'm not worried about respect or praise from the media.
The great thing about being in the SEC west is that if we take care o...
Prolly cause you don't play football or practice receiving drills.
Do you really think the only time a ball is throw to them is in a game?
The staff knows what they're capable of and what risks are involved in throwing to them. So far it's been shite, with drops and a frickin fumble.[/quo...

Well if I was an LSU TE I'd be confused too if someone threw an oblong piece of pig dermis at me. :pimp:...

It's the perfect deception. Every year coaches say they are going to get the TEs involved in the passing game. That should be enough to force defenses to game plan for our TEs right? :lol:
One TE reception in 3 games. :rotflmao:...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Why Miss State matches up with LSU very well - BayouCowboy on 9/16/14 at 11:53 am|
Ironically, I expect this to be one of the better games for the O-line. They've had breakdowns early and I suspect that's been the main focus of practice this week. Most mistakes have been mental vs physical and I think they get them ironed out by Saturday.
I predict a back and forth game wit...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Why does the Offensive Line seem to be underperforming? - BayouCowboy on 9/16/14 at 6:53 am|
I just watched the game for the first time after recording the replay. I am very concerned with the OL play against a team they should have manhandled. Alexander played terribile and the tight ends missed several blocks. Alexander missed his man nearly everytime he came off his first block an...

I was going to use the Arky/Texas Tech game as an example too. That was ridiculously impressive the way they shredded TTs D by running virtually the same running plays over and over. I don't expect our line or run game to duplicate that, but I was expecting better, especially against 2nd tier oppo...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Middle Linebacker - BayouCowboy on 9/10/14 at 5:25 pm|
The easy answer is Chief will determine reps based on level of play and will not officially replace Welter. I'm really getting sick of this subject. Welter will still play, but if he consistently gets outplayed by Beckwith or Garrett his reps will decrease.
Just let it go people....

OK, I'll admit to thinking LF looked kind of slow and stiff on his cuts. Doesn't mean I "hate him" or think he's a bust. I don't think he was sharp on his cuts and found lanes.
He's an 18 year old kid despite all the hype which we all enjoyed. None of that means he won't improve and become a...
He definitely looks like the kind of guy you can just do whatever with. Long passes, short screens, intermediate routes, etc. Like I said, his TD catch reminded me of Dez Bryant. Just a pure freak.
Reminds me of Josh Reed. Reed had great lower body strength because he was a former ...

| Tiger Rant|| re: ESPN - Les Miles proves again not to doubt him - BayouCowboy on 9/3/14 at 5:42 pm|
Les runs a relatively bland Big 10 style offense, then hits you with a trick play.
A team dead in the water, comes roaring back to life.
Gotta love the madness of Les. Just make sure you are current on your cardiac meds and anti-depressants....

| Tiger Rant|| re: How long will it take Beckwith to grasp the system ? - BayouCowboy on 9/1/14 at 3:30 pm|
Kwon was also out of position on one of the long TD runs. He pinched inside of Hunter and the play went right into the spot he vacated. That was all on him. Kwon was the star on D, but he made mistakes as well. When Chief had him execute run blitzes in the 2nd half it turned the game around....
| Tiger Rant|| re: How long will it take Beckwith to grasp the system ? - BayouCowboy on 9/1/14 at 3:23 pm|
Nothing like a Welter related thread to get people fired up. Beckwith played a lot of snaps Saturday and managed 1 asst and no solos. He was also out of position based on film break down. Not saying he won't get better, but don't think switching players will make a positive difference any time so...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Biggest thing I saw Saturday - BayouCowboy on 9/1/14 at 11:06 am|
My hope was to get through this game with a W and no injuries. As far as I know we didn't have anyone go down. It's a young team and getting past that first big test is huge. Doing it in the fashion they did will only make them stronger when SEC play starts. Continue to grow the next 2 weeks and...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Last Night Could Not Have Gone Better - BayouCowboy on 8/31/14 at 1:52 pm|
I agree with the sentiment.
I think some players were a little over confident and needed to be more focussed. I think bringing the team from behind did a lot for Jennings' confidence and he can focus on getting better, rather than just trying to beat out Harris. The young players got to grow u...
