| Tiger Rant|| re: ...and then there were two (QBs)!! - BayouCowboy on 3/11/14 at 3:05 pm|
My guess is that at this point it is as about as wide open a competition as it can be because at this point no one has proven to be head and shoulders above the rest. The starter will be who they think has the best shot to win NOW, especially with a tough D1 team in Wisconsin as our 1st game. I do...
| Tiger Rant|| re: The state of LSU football 4 years from now? - BayouCowboy on 3/7/14 at 1:46 pm|
Get ready for RBU (Running Back Univ). We perpetually load up on RB talent and with Grimes recruiting OL we become one of the most dominant running teams in the nation coupled with dual threat QBs. LSU renames the offense "Ground and pound" and players take on MMA personas.
Defense remains top ...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Mettenberger > Bridgewater - BayouCowboy on 2/28/14 at 10:26 am|
Mett could be as good as Flacco, but he still has another year of learning to read defenses and adjust to the game speed. I wish he had Cam that first year here. The jump from JUCO to SEC ball was certainly a challenge that 1st year and now it's going to speed up even more. If he gets on a team w...

| Tiger Rant|| re: Is our strength and conditioning program overrated? - BayouCowboy on 2/24/14 at 11:46 am|
Ironically I just read an article the other day talking about how the bench press is a horrible exercise that puts undue stress on rotator cuffs and push ups and cable rows/cross overs were much better and effective exercises....
| Tiger Rant|| re: Brandon Harris vs Anthony Jennings - BayouCowboy on 2/21/14 at 8:15 am|
I think the reason everyone is so excited about Harris is his quick release and velocity on his throws. Jennings doesn't have the zip and if his throws float they will get picked in the SEC. Unfortunately all 3 have accuracy issues with Jennings maybe being the most accurate.
Regardless who win...
| LSU Recruiting Board|| re: Cam Cameron and the TALL recievers - BayouCowboy on 2/20/14 at 3:14 pm|
Tall or short doesn't matter. All I know is that this current set of WRs may be thin on experience, but they are deep on talent. Quinn, Dupre, Peterson, Diarse and Dural give us an impressive corps. Add in Leslie and Upchurch and you can expect quite a battle for playing time next season.
| Tiger Rant|| re: Is this pretty much proof that Rettig is out as well? - BayouCowboy on 2/20/14 at 8:50 am|
Well Cameron coached Antwan Randle El at Indiana so I'm sure he is interested in using the best talent he has available to be successful. If that's a dual threat, read option offense, then so be it. He'll still find ways to get his WRs involved. That's actually the great thing about Cam. He's ad...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Dale Brown v2.0 - BayouCowboy on 2/13/14 at 8:12 am|
Brown also had good seasons with teams starring players like Ricky Blanton and Jose Vargas. So as dissapointing as it was that he didn't go all the way with Shaq, CJ and Roberts, Dale was also able to make some very average players extremely successful....
I was at the game and not once did I think of JJ. The conditions were miserable, and the game plan was to run Hill.
Obviously running Hill was the plan, but in pass situations there were a number of times that AJ held the ball way too long or did not scramble when blocking broke dow...
| Tiger Rant|| re: Brandon Harris (FR) vs Anthony Jennings (SO) - QB battle to ensue - BayouCowboy on 2/7/14 at 2:46 pm|
To think Cam will not do his due dilligence when it comes to evaluating the QBs is ridiculous. That's why he was brought here. They are not going to hand the QB job to anyone. It will be earned. We as fans just may not see all of the intangibles the coaches are putting into the equation:
| LSU Recruiting Board|| re: Cam Cameron has changed LSU's offensive image for recruits - BayouCowboy on 2/7/14 at 2:34 pm|
well, to be honest, cam inherited a gold mine of skill position talent. now, this year will tell how good cam is with no offensive skill position talent on the level of last year but an improved offensive line.
And that is where championships are won....

| LSU Recruiting Board|| re: number one class actually. - BayouCowboy on 2/7/14 at 10:36 am|
All I know is that a lot of folks are going to write LSU off this season due to the loss of some very productive players and breaking in a new QB. But, seeing some of our guys develop over the last part of the season (DBs especially) and the new influx of talent, this is going to be a team that sur...
Out of State kids don't hear constantly how stupid our HC is.
True, but in the end, results matter. When a kid in West Monroe or N.O. sees Les and Co. just got a verbal from the top recruit in TX, IL or where ever; when they see guys like Jackson and Carter talk about how they almos...
| LSU Recruiting Board|| re: Keeping In State Talent - BayouCowboy on 2/6/14 at 3:07 pm|
I agree that it's dissapointing that we missed on some big recruits in state, but I see a trend that is more promising. LSU is pulling in more top OOS recruits than ever before and the reality is that LA won't always boast such a big pool of top talent. By expanding our influence we are guaranteei...

I'm sorry but look at how many chances Miles gave Matthieu. Ryan was given plenty of opportunities to get straight and he blew it. No one faults these kids for making mistakes and a lot of them come from bad circumstances, but when you are given second and 3rd chances and basically offered the wor...

| LSU Recruiting Board|| re: Travonte Valentine is mean!! - BayouCowboy on 2/5/14 at 4:25 pm|
I think this guy is the steal of the class. He's going to transform what this D is able to do. He will demand doubles and open up the lanes for our LBs to fill. Within I year I think this D will return to 2011 form....

Really excited about this kid. I think he will make the rest of the D around him better. I was dissapointed in Davon's OM pick, but TV was really the uncomitted player I was most hoping we would sign.
Welcome aboard big man. Do some work and welcome to the Tiger Nation....
