re: Need bermuda lawn help. - bootlegger
What kind of weeds? I'm assuming winter broad leaves and poa. I wouldn't worry with the poa this late in the game, the heat will knock it out. Hit the lawn with Trimec and you should be good until your warm weather grassy weeds set in. ...

re: Spring Weed Guide For Lawns - bootlegger
Tough battle to fight. pH is always going to revert back toward the clay, no matter what you top dress with. So keep an eye on your pH. May not get good response from your lawn no matter how much you fertilize if the nutrients can't be released....

re: Spring Weed Guide For Lawns - bootlegger
You seeding into an existing stand of grass? If so, I'd just scratch the surface to get good soil contact and plant. I'm not aerating my fields just yet. Still in green-up, so I'm not going to stress any existing turf until it is growing season. Especially with this cool snap. ETA: Core or spike ...

re: Spring Weed Guide For Lawns - bootlegger
Depends on what I'm putting down. I mainly use specially formulated fertilizers from Regal Chemical Co. They're very controlled release, and are broken down/released by microbial activity. Rain, irrigation, and mowing really don't affect those. If I want to boost the fields to a darker shade of gree...

re: Spring Weed Guide For Lawns - bootlegger
Give it time...it does take a while to work, but has good residual activity. Want faster results, pop em with 2,4-D or metsulfuron methyl (MSM), not to be confused with MSMA. What weeds or type of weeds are you trying to kill, and in what type of turf grass?...
