In 1990 you could show up to a game at Alex Box 5 minutes before first pitch and get a great seat (most was general admission at that time) for a few bucks and still park very close to the stadium. A game worn and signed pair of pants from Charles Alexander.
A purple and gold basketball signed by Dale Brown and most of the 1981 basektball team, I was in middle school and McDonalds sponsored some sort of fund raiser and you could go out and buy a basketball and have it signed by all of them ...

I think The Advocate is in the process of being sold. I wonder what sort of impact that is going to have.
Most people nowdays don't take a paper or pick one up. My family used to take The Advocate in the morning and the State Times in the afternoon til they stopped the Times. Not sure when it hap...

Show up 2 minutes before first pitch and get a general admission ticket and sit just about anywhere. I bet some games had 150 people at them.

Saw Morris in person so that's obviously number 1.
I have to suck it up and admit the longest/most impressive home run I saw hit in the old box was Bo Jackson....

No but be prepared to answer the question "Did you put sunscreen on that kid?" at least 25 times per inning, some from the same people over and over.
When I had season ticks a friend would come once or twice a year and bring his kid for a few innings and people never stopped with it....

Possibly but I think there would be a lot of backlash in non athletic departments on some of the campuses for not belonging to the NCAA. Some of them already gripe and moan a lot about the athletic programs on campus and I imagine that would grow a little with leaving the NCAA....

Baseball. I would likely be there to see it and never really cared for basketball. The last LSU basketball games I went to were in the Shaw/Chris Jackson era and only then because I could get student seats....

In person. LSU losing to Miami(OH) 21-12 in 1986. Wound up with 9 wins that season.
A close second would be LSU losing to Florida in 1993 58-3. I remember Hallman saying in the post game interview on the ride home about how we did a good job of running the ball. I think we had less than 20 yards ...

And my point was that A&M is a closer fit for the SEC than UT after having attended games at both of those schools before the expansion.

Read my edited post. I saw as many battle flags on trucks while living near College Station as I did just about anywhere else in the south.
Having lived there was one of the reasons I was not a huge fan of letting A&M into the conference. Everyone wanted TV exposure but living there I got more LS...
