Should have tack strips that are holding the carpet down.
If you are near an edge at a a wall just pull it up and put it back down. May need a carpet kicker to get it tight.
Near a seam you can cut the seam but it will need to be welded (melted) back together after the repair.

Elevated house you can probably screw down the subfloor in those spots but making small slots in the carpet. You have to be clear of the carpet though if the screw catches the carpet strands it will twist them up and make carpet runs.

The front and rear sensors are indispensable for determining the source of the alert.

They typically twist them all together to make up all the grounds. Currently in LA now in residential a crimped copper band is also required. 15 years ago not so. Regardless of time the devices (switches, receptacles, dimmers, etc.) are required to be grounded to meet code.

The Miller is a nice machine (I have a 130 about 10 years old). My Miller uses shielding gas.
I have used a Lincoln 140 at work and it is a good little machine too.
Something to consider also is whether you are going to bear the expense of a shielding gas or just get flux cored wire.

I got the Hero3 silver off eBay for $250.
I use my iPhone as a wifi remote. It's pretty handy to be able to see the framing of the shot before you record especially if you are using a mount.
Battery life is very short though if you leave the wifi on....

You could certainly get a new or lightly used engine.
That being said when cars get that high up in miles the list of other things that cause problems gets longer.
Time, not necessarily miles is the culprit on an older vehicle. Rubber parts dry out or degrade causing leaks, etc.

Several things with ants.
1) Treat the yard (Talstar PL granules) every 6 months.
2) Use above to treat the exterior perimeter.
3) Use an interior treatment quarterly (Suspend SC) for maintenance.
4) Once the ants are inside the only way to get them is to bait them (poison Ant gel).

I would get single speed outside unit with a variable furnace/air handler. Use the savings to upgrade the insulation to spray foam.
