| Outdoor Board|| re: Anyone else's duck lease turn bad lately? - TigerDog83 on 11/19/14 at 4:39 pm|
Biggest changes in my mind are no till farming, more hunting pressure from yahoo hunters, and ethanol. We still kill plenty of ducks in North LA, South Ark, and North TX but we have to do different things to stay on them. We have left the fixed blinds after the first few weeks for layout blinds, n...
As highly touted #10 is for Bama, there is a reason he is only playing special teams. Watching Bama play Miss. St., #10 leads with his head on every tackle.
I've noticed this as well. He is going to get badly hurt if he doesn't correct this. ...
isnt the wood duck banded more than any other bird?
Every statistic I can find shows that of the 13 million ducks banded through 2008 or 2009 about 7 million were mallards.
| Outdoor Board|| re: Whats the oldest banded duck you've ever shot? - TigerDog83 on 11/5/14 at 3:30 pm|
The trick to shooting bands is to shoot mallards. I've seen some teal, wood ducks, and pintails, but it's overwhelmingly mallards that are banded and killed the last time I looked at the records. We have had seasons at our camp where over 500-1,000 grey ducks have been killed and I've never seen o...

Shot a 5 yr old banded canvasback about 15 years ago. Everything else was estimated less than that at least time of banding was less. You hear about people that shoot bands that aren't even legible they are so old. ...
You need snow and lots of it IMHO. They will keep water open, but I believe the food has to be completely covered before they leave.
Yep. Large amounts of snow are needed to cover up the dry fields of barley, corn, and soybeans the ducks feed on in the Northern plains. I guess if...
Dec. 6 - time to go hunting and/or watch conference championship game(s)!!!!
This is why there is early voting for the runoff also.
| Political Talk|| re: Mary Landrieu Is Going to Win the Runoff - TigerDog83 on 11/5/14 at 8:20 am|
I suspect you will see Mary get very desperate and show up in some unlikely places looking for a last gasp. She will try to garner support from her inner city voters in Shreveport with the mayoral runoff and I suspect she will try the same in Monroe where the former mayor Mayo is in a runoff for th...

Ethanol also is hydroscopic making it hard to pipeline. Corrosion is much worse and as many people have noted the fact it's hydroscopic is bad news for many small engines. It also takes immense inputs of natural gas to fertilize all the subsidized corn fields. This has resulted in the loss of a lo...

Eli and Bo Wallace both 1-2 against lsu (1-3 if you count manning garbage time in 2000 as a backup). Eli was the better qb and the 2003 lsu team with chad lavalais shoving the center was obviously leagues better than this one. ...

Being that ole miss has really only been the better team one year in this series since 2000 (2008) and they have played lsu extremely tight more often than not including stealing a couple of games lsu is due to return the favor. Too many games against bad ole miss teams were down to the wire over r...

Auburn got a 15 yard penalty for all the antics I believe so the kickoff was from the 50 so it made sense to try it.

Seems very unlikely that a well would have a major explosion and wouldn't be noticed by pumpers or by looking at a sudden drop off of pipeline volumes. Even storage tanks exploding wouldn't cause an explosion near what this was. The helicopter flight should turn up something one would think. ...
