re: Changing jobs-Ever used a headhunter/recruiter type? - LSUtigerME
Absolutely. Only changed jobs once, but have LinkedIn to thank for it. Recruiter found me on there, sent me job details in a fishing email, and I bit because it was too good to pass up. Turned out I had already applied for that job, but recruiter got me the interview and ultimately the job. Tu...

re: First Job Salary Negotiation. - LSUtigerME
I think you're over thinking this. Remember, these guys are people with families too, they have to make the same decisions in their life. Most of them aren't blatant a-holes trying to screw you over. Call them up and discuss it. It's not "on the spot" as they know they can say "give us some time...
Is this normal after a break or is it just the program wearing me down after 75 days or so? Perhaps just a mental obstacle I need to overcome? Appreciate the help.
Same here. Took a week off while sick with Strep. Been struggling to get back on ever since. Used to look forwar...

re: What is involved in starting a used car lot? - LSUtigerME
Have you considered just flipping cars on CList or eBay? I'd start there, and the money is there. Very passive involvement too. I've considered this many times....

re: What was your go-to search engine before Google conquered the world? - LSUtigerME
IIRC, there was a site called 32 or 36 that compiled searches from all search engines. It got the most results, so I used that
37 brah. I liked that one. Yahoo probably most often. Ask Jeeves and Lycos on occasion....

re: Returning a purchased car... - LSUtigerME
Is he a good employee? Definitely lesson learned. But if he can show they lied or knew and did not disclose, he may have a case. For example, if they reset codes without repairing, or knew of issues and had a document saying it was "inspected" and nothing was disclosed....

re: Excel Quesitons... - LSUtigerME
There's a function in excel that will return the first day of the month of a given date (I belive). You can use that function and subtract the date (using serial numbers), giving you the number of days into the month. ETA: Can also construct it from your date and Month(). I doubt this is reall...

re: infrared extender issue...geniuses needed - LSUtigerME
They put the repeaters back near the sensors? Are the sensors/receivers in the new DVRs in a different area where they don't receive a reflected signal? Did they/you unplug adjust the repeaters? Can you make it work with your remote? Not going through the repeater?...

Any body have advice on how to reintegrate into the program? Took a week off now as want to get back started. Was in week 2 of Block 3 on doubles. Should I take a slow week like recovery week and then start Block 3 over? Just jump in right where I left off, but perhaps just take it easy? Starting...

re: Amazon fire box, is it worth the extra over the stick? - LSUtigerME
The stick is not the greatest wifi antenna. I got spotty service on iPhone in my bedroom. Put the stick in there and it basically didn't work. Ran a new AP to the hallway just outside, and it works great now. A little laggy on the processor side at times, but it's fine. If you don't have a strong...

re: Amazon fire box, is it worth the extra over the stick? - LSUtigerME
Do you have a hard wired network connection and space for the box? If so, get the box. The stick is nice, but it can be laggy and mine gets pretty hot. Only advantage is go with box is if I could have a wired connection....

re: Buying a car. Loan question - LSUtigerME
Credit Union or Bank. Credit Union will likey offer better rate, but some have restrictions on first time car loans. If the rate is reasonable, and that dumps your savings, take out a little bigger loan and keep some savings for backup. As it rebuilds, pay down the car note. Just make sure to ...

re: What percentage of people in BR have a "keeping up with the Jones" lifestyle? - LSUtigerME
This shit/topic is getting old on this board. Not everybody wants to defer enjoyment of their labor until they are retired and 60. Get off that shite. There's a lot of ways to enjoy life and still save and be fine for retirement. You don't have to live in a shack and drive 10 year old cars. You d...
