re: Is it possible to buy a new car online without dealer hassle - LSUtigerME
If you're not willing to negotiate, look into a car buying program. Multiple organizations have them, AAA, CostCo, AllState, etc. This is similar to being involved in a VPP type program. You'll get a set price on the vehicle, no negotiation. They will try to stick you with fees, but that can be a...

re: Oil Change places say every 3000 miles. Is that accurate? - LSUtigerME
Get a used oil analysis. It's the only valid way to determine what the oil change interval is for YOUR car/environment and driving style. It's only around $30 and you can mail it in (I use Blackstone Labs). 3k is old, but could be valid for the filter in really harsh environment with tons of part...

re: Best tablet for a 3 yr old? - LSUtigerME
You guys clearly do not have a 3 yr old.... If you use Apple products, I'd go iPad, used wifi only for cheap. Much more games developed for it, and can share across tablets/phone without having to repay. A lot of those toddler games are smart/sneaky bastards. Free, but get all this extra access...

re: Went to my first Pelicans game, cheerleaders - LSUtigerME
I knew a Tiger Girl back in college with a lower back tat/tramp stamp. It was never visible on the court though. Not sure if they made her put makeup on it or what. Their lower back/midriff was always visible....

re: Rolling over 401K to new job - LSUtigerME
Why did this shite turn so argumentative? Any thing written on a message board is obviously not personal financial advice. The guy did not give nearly enough information to make a truly personal decision. However, generic advice that he can further research on his particular situation is all warra...

re: iPhone 6 camera lens cracked - UPDATE with pic of cracked lens - LSUtigerME
It's going to get worse. Cameras can only be so thin. Phones are going to keep getting thinner.
Well then should the phone really be that thin? If the tech to make the camera smaller is not there, then the tech to make the phone thinner is not there. The phone can only be as thin a...

re: What would the OT do? (Work Situation) - LSUtigerME
Don't rat him out. Talk to him, which it seems you have. He may also be biding time until Jan 1, so he can get paid for 2015 vacation too (smart man). But, why are you doing his work? Are you his boss/direct report? How does his work affect your performance? If he doesn't want to do it, frick it, ...

re: How to tell if I can refinish a dresser - LSUtigerME
Check drawers, bottom, or inside edges. If you see wood grain and not flaky particle board/mdf, you can likely refinish it. I have a desk and a bookshelf that is nice and heavy as shit, but still MDF....

re: New dad's out there? - LSUtigerME
Congrats. Boy or girl? Most of its been covered (Amazon Mom is great), but if a girl, clothes/bows/accessories. Boys are pretty easy, but women tend to want to put all kinds of extra stuff on girls. Also, don't buy a ton of newborn or 1-3 month clothing or diapers. They grow out of them wa...

re: Need Help with an Excel Formula - LSUtigerME
Are you limited in columns you could use? Do you want the same result if "+" and same if "-"? If so, build a hidden column next to A/B and Y/Z, and use a singe IF to assign the value of X as "1" and Y as "-1", same for A/B. Then just use IF that Column A/B x Column Y/Z is positive/negative....

re: Car buying situation-Need advice - LSUtigerME
What's difference between what you owe vs what you think you could sell it for? If trade in, you get the tax credit, and could also roll over the debt inequity. Not ideal, but if you can't sell it for what you owe will have to do it anyway. As far as selling it privately, I alwasy start at car...

re: Who or how to clean dryer vent through roof - LSUtigerME
No, definitely just condensation from the long run. As the exhaust travels up, the cool pipe cause the hot air to condense water from the moist air. It drips back down into flex pipe. I fought if for years. It sucks. Made me hate my house and the dryer. If you are near an external wall, I'd t...

re: Who or how to clean dryer vent through roof - LSUtigerME
Check your flex pipe. My vents through the roof, and the flex pipe behind the dryer would fill with water every couple of months. You could actually hear the dryer/water surging during use. I had to disconnect it from back of dryer, and drain it. Usually got about a gallon of water from it. I ...
