re: Advice for saving for grandchildren (education, first home, etc) - LSUtigerME
529 if you are looking for tax advantages, dedicated to her, and earmarked for college (otherwise available at a penalty). I have brokerage account for my son that I add to every year in some blue chip stocks. It's in my name, so it's available to me and it doesn't become his at age 18. I can us...

re: 100K Net Worth - LSUtigerME
Net worth = Value of all assets - Outstanding debt Goals should ideally be based on income/salary levels to kinda equalize them for lifestyles. 1x salary at 30 is good, but not necessarily outstanding....

re: Is it possible to use one computer to backup another (like an externall hd)? - LSUtigerME
Code42 / CrashPlan offers free software to do this as well. It can also backup to a cloud server for a price, but the local/computer backup is free. You can backup to any internet connected computer....

re: What would you do in this situation (job pay related) - LSUtigerME
He may be better off asking if there is some more OT or other responsibilities that he could take on to fill the void he is missing It would come off more as being helpful/eager and less like asking for a handout Even if these aren't avaialable, it may get your message across in a bet...

re: First vehicle that your parents bought or gave you - LSUtigerME
First given for me to drive was a '98 Dodge Ram 1500 Single Cab. Very basic truck, vinyl floors, cloth seats, no power seats/windows/locks. Had a V8 though. Remember when they "gave" it to me, my dad had some flowmasters installed that day. This, but blue. [img]http://i.ytimg.com/vi/1HYpLHrsasY...

re: I'm not a Honda guy,but the 2016 accord is sweet - LSUtigerME
Well shite. Makes my 2014 look dated already. Would never expect this level of updates in the mid model refresh. The article is a bit inaccurate though. A lot of those features were available now from 2013. LED headlights, CVT, etc....

White trash vehicles may speak to the person...but a cheaper decent vehicle is fine and often preferred. Shows she's not an uptight high maintenance bitch that only cares about appearance at whatever costs....

re: Excel Help: Sending data to a sheet whose name = cell value - LSUtigerME
You can store the value of D1 to a variable and use it in the "Sheet" reference. I don't have exact syntax right now. I know I had that code in the userform so I can pull it out of there. I was on vacation the past week. Should be able to help you out again....

re: TV Protection Plans - LSUtigerME
No. Pay with American Express or some of the bank cards and they'll double your warranty for free. Today's electronics are so reliable and so cheap that it's silly to pay for a service plan. Just self-insure and buy a new one if it conks out.
This. Both Visa and MasterCard extend the...

re: Overpromising at the Office - LSUtigerME
It depends on the customer. People always want to please and avoid confrontation. Also, depending on the office environment, if your realistic expectation is unacceptable and someone else is willing to "over promise", regardless of the outcome, you will look bad. It's basically the same princi...

re: P90X-3/T-25 in-game thread - LSUtigerME
Was wondering if I was missing the thread popping up or it kinda died... I was in Mexico on vacation last week, so no workouts and shitty eating (although not terrible). Did act like a jackass and crank out some pull-ups on a bridge crossing a lazy river, but that's about it. It's actually amazin...

re: Any ACURA dealers/experts here? - LSUtigerME
Acura's are a good vehicle. My wife drives a 2015 MDX w/ Tech. Great vehicle. Which dealership? I don't like dealing with BR, but it was okay. Bought our last one in Metarie. If you do the research and find its a good price, just be happy with it. You're likely not getting close to invoice on ...

re: Best sleep app? - LSUtigerME
What do you want out of it? I use Sleep Cycle. It's okay, I like the gentle alarm and the tracking using the accelerometer. Stick right under the edge of my pillow. There's some other ones that sync with external devices, such as Fitbit, and bracelet, and mask, etc....

re: Excel help...import report name based on number - LSUtigerME
Need to clarify a bit. Are you trying to simply pull the name that corresponds to a number? And that table of number/name is located on another sheet? Vlookup sounds like your answer. If the columns are not in the right order (lookup value to left of sought value), you can use Index(match(...)...

re: Excel lookup help - LSUtigerME
Are you trying consolidate in that general sense, ie "gloves"? How many of these potential fields are we talking about? You could set up a macro to run for you that would handle the searching/filtering/sorting, making it a little less manual. I guess it's not clear to me how complex it would b...
