re: Possible coaching candidates - BigBird09
Is Minnesota pushing Pitino out the door? Minnesota seems like a great job for someone his age.
No, not that I know of, but he's supposedly in the running for the UT job which is a better job even in the shape it's in IMO. I'm amazed that he got the Minnesota job in the first pla...
any thoughts on where Grant will wind up?
The 2 head jobs I'd keep an eye on is Minnesota (if Pitino leaves) and VCU (if Shaka leaves). I'd say he'd be a leading candidate for Minnesota....

Texas has some fantastic recruits to choose from. I'd rather have him than Pitino, but I'd have to get turned down by a few others....
Smart. Vcu has a terrible track record of coaches failing elsewhere
I'm not AS high on Smart as some, but c'mon. Picking Prohm over Smart is like eating dog food instead of a steak dinner....

re: Possible coaching candidates - BigBird09
Gregg Marshall is a perfect fit for Alabama. There isn't a better JUCO scouter or recruiter in the nation. That is an extremely underated skill. JUCO is great at filling immediate needs which is something we sucked at with Grant. I actually think both Jimmie and Kessens will both be solid to great b...

re: Brandon Austin worries about Anthony Grant's future - BigBird09
but you are hyping him up as a renowned big man....oh ok.
Most great collegiate big men don't have a good post up game. Willie Cauley-Stein sure as hell doesn't have much of one, but he's going to be a lottery pick.
so more like shannon hale/kessens than Mickey...got i...

re: Brandon Austin worries about Anthony Grant's future - BigBird09
I'm not sure about his post game, but I've heard he's got a solid shot out to 17 feet and is great at putbacks. According to what I've heard, he sounds a bit like Jordan Mickey... That's not to say he's that good, but that's a good comparison as far as playing styles go....
We here this every year....
You haven't "hered" it from me every year. He grew 3 inches since his commitment (now 6'11 barefoot) and was a top 100 player according to ESPN at 6'8". I'm not sure what his final averages ended up being, but earlier on this season he was averaging 2...
frick our 'cruiting class is lacking cant even remember their names
Donta Hall is actually a great recruit and he's not going anywhere. Not sure I've been more excited about a recruit in the Grant era. Some of that does have to do with the lack of solid post players during that stre...
Well he signed should've waited...
No. He should and will get his release if he wants it. BTW this doesn't tell us much in terms of Grant. He even said in that interview that he hasn't talked to anybody about Grant's job status. He's likely just going by fan reaction....
I dont see how Arkansas could be considered better when we almost won with Grant as HC.
By this logic, Ole Miss is more talented than UK because they almost won in Rupp with Andy Kennedy as coach.
