Ah, the good old days of shooting each other with BB guns
Ain't that the truth! We used to choose up sides and have regular wars in the woods. Some of us had bb guns that had a magazine which held about 50 bb's and some of the guys had the old pump bb guns that you could just pou...
| Outdoor Board|| re: Snake shed in my stand, will it return? - BFIV on 11/20/14 at 10:33 pm|
Here in the Virginia mountains, we gotta really watch out for them snow snakes when it gets cold. Their two little black, beady eyes are about all you can see when there's snow on the ground and they're almost perfectly camo'd. If you don't believe me, just ask aVatiger. Never seen one in a stand, ...

I vaguely remember this, bapple. Problem today is simple, though. Some idiot would assemble it incorrectly, have it blow up in his face, and then the ensuing lawsuit would put the company out of business. ...
Either way it's gonna hit the ground & that's what I'm scared of
You and Ole Geauxt need to just jump in amongst em while they're on the ground and do this: [link=(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=337_Vzqn91Y&sns=fb)]LINK[/link] :lol:...
| Outdoor Board|| re: Hornet nest removal - BFIV on 11/18/14 at 9:35 pm|
You can let Geauxt stand about a mile away and sling a round from his 243-7mm mag-08-06 into that nest. If they don't fly outta there, it's cold enough for short range work with the 12 gauge. 50 degrees ain't cold enough, btw. Been there, done that......
It's over 25' up a tree. If I can caoxt Geauxt into it i'll film it
Well, if yall can't reach it from the ground, just shoot it out with the 12 gauge whilst the other one films it. They won't sting this time of year, anyway. :cheers:...

Here ya go, Nascar. You can let Geauxt be the videographer (he only needs one hand for this, anyway). [link=(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4n-v6-WHWEo&oref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D4n-v6-WHWEo&has_verified=1)]LINK[/link]...

Just saw this update on the hornet nest. Funny thing was that I was thinking about that hornet nest this week while I was draggin out some firewood from the mountain. Figgered you and OG had burnt it down... :cheers:...
| Outdoor Board|| re: Best place to buy firewood around Lafayette? - BFIV on 11/18/14 at 8:35 pm|
Not tryin to be a smarta$$, but 60 bucks for that load? As much wood as we use, I couldn't afford to burn firewood at that price. I burn more than that in less than a week. Had no idea firewood was that expensive down there. That stack of firewood sells for about 15-20 bucks here. For that size l...

Here is an interactive link to deer populations across the United States. You can even zero in on your particular county. My area of Virginia has a deer population of more than 45 deer per square mile. And so does a great deal of Louisiana, Bama, Mississippi, and Georgia. With similar deer popula...

I can understand bag limits being different in each state due to herd density and population. Virginia ain't Texas or Alabama. But we've still got plenty of deer. Too many, matter of fact, around my place.

The thread on the .35 Whelen being considered a primitive weapon got me to thinking about the different deer regulations in some of the states. For instance, it is perfectly legal, and apparently, a common practice to deer hunt over corn and rice bran feeders in yall's neck of the woods. But it is...
