re: Archery - suddenly have to adjust sights? - ReelFun
sounds like you're on and the shot placement was right on too. hard to not get a low exit wound when they are close. She would have started to leave a blood trail if she wasn't laying on the ground dead. ...

re: Scope debate: 2-7x33 vs 3-9x40 - ReelFun
larger FOV is because of the lower power. the distances you said that you might be shooting would make me consider larger and more power not the opposite. if I were buying a new scope for my deer rifle, that I use on large plots or fields a 2x7 33mm would not even be in the discussion. neither woul...

re: Archery - suddenly have to adjust sights? - ReelFun
how old are you? if over 40 it could be that because the bow, string, etc. are in your right eyes field of focus so your left eye is taking over dominance. if you were using a peep I would say that would definitely be the problem. (assuming shooting right handed) this happened to me about 4 yea...

re: Anxiously awaiting the fall Causeway Trap bite - ReelFun
i don't like trolling the train
train is 'train. short for Pontchartrain not train trestle. though I am not opposed to trolling them. the way to have fun trolling is good friends, beer, music, and going faster that 1.5 mph. lol hopefully my theory with the downriggers will wo...

re: Anxiously awaiting the fall Causeway Trap bite - ReelFun
I want to troll the bridges also. I have a theory that I want to test. I think the trap needs to be near the bottom and that is why the slow speeds and or lead core lines. I put two downriggers on my bayboat and think I can troll faster and the riggers will keep the traps on the bottom thus elimi...

Short axes, hatchets and tomahawks - ReelFun
Deer camps have various and sundry items to cut and hack with. I have a little pit of a fetish for these things. Here are some good looking ones in a post by outdoor life. re: Concern over pack of coyotes - ReelFun
snares are the best way to go. bacon will get them to come in. but the bacon on a fence line are game run. snares on both sides. If there are dogs that run loose it will get them too, which is not good. ...

re: How many rounds do you normally fire off at the range? - ReelFun
1
now to get to the 1 shot might take a few more. but I like to stop at the range at the camp and pop one off every now and then to make sure nothing has changed. I also might make small adjustments to have the first shot dead on. ...
how windy does it need to get before deer start doing this?
i saw some research done on this with collared deer in texas. they had the movement of bucks graphed. without drawing the graph for you, think of good movement with less than 5mph. diminished movement going to almost zero...
