Derozan does not help the Pels. Don't think Dell is this dumb
Does Stiemsma? How much does Aminu help?
DeRozan may be a decent asset, or enable another move.
Gordon for Deng still looks good for both teams, especially since Rose is down and if they want get behind Butler...

The deal as detailed would be a salary dump for them, and another guard to try out around Davis. I'm not sure I totally get these are the best options for each team, but that's the best explanation I can come up with at first glance.
It can't happen until at least the 15th since...

Also... Offense is not problem.
These fools allow the highest efg% in the NBA as of a couple of days ago. May still be true.
There's more damning evidence. Some of that is youth. The idea that youth is a universal good is flawed. It has plusses and minuses. The road woes i...
| Pelicans Talk|| re: Pelicans' FG percentage by distance breakdown - 42 on 12/9/13 at 10:41 am|
I think that is the guards not finishing. If you factor in offensive rebounding, I think the points per possession work out to be higher than this indicates.
I think the finishing will get a little better when the small forward is more of a scoring threat.
The long 2 percentages are fine. Take...

I wrote a couple of months ago that the team can't get a Drew Brees kind of effect from a player for many years because Davis is the only real shot at that, and he may leave town, souring it. See: Chris Paul.
They need a Fred McAfee type of guy for the fans to point to and say, "That's our Pelica...

UP has it right.
Also, I often read complaints about attendance. I rarely read good looks at what other teams do in terms of butts in seats, why they feel "embarrassed" by what they perceive as low attendance, if they feel it is a sign of the team's eventual departure, etc.
Mostly, I see uninf...

I am not sure how to even begin to evaluate medical staff. They guys look at the athletes, then maybe they get referred to doctors. Clearly the players have a say in the process beyond providing much of the initial diagnostic info and sticking to prescribed plans.
Then there is the communication ...
With no lottery pick next year I will be pretty upset if we miss the playoffs and don't get a draft pick to improve next year
Draft picks, for the most part, give help down the road. We have those in the pipeline. The MLE and trades are mechanisms to get more immediate help.

| Pelicans Talk|| re: Sooooo . . . 17 Games in . . . - 42 on 12/3/13 at 10:10 am|
I think part of the problem with focusing on who the losses have come to is that it ignores some confounding issues, such as us not knowing `who those teams are', the fact that bad teams sometimes beat better teams (or better bad teams), as the Jazz just beat the Rockets (who were lacking Parsons).
| Pelicans Talk|| re: Are people ready to eat crow regarding Anderson yet? - 42 on 12/3/13 at 10:03 am|
I don't see the point in discussion of posters or post history, even if those posters don't offer the same courtesy. It leads to far more harm than good to do otherwise.
Focus on the team, and the board will take care of itself.
Nothing personal intended here. ...

Look at the Zach Lowe article about us posted on here today. We lost a lot of games early to bad teams that we can't afford to lose if we want to make the playoffs. Now we're going to have to win some games against teams like OKC, LAC, SA, etc. to make u...
