My daughter attended LSU with Carson - he gone. With Aut, Baranik, and Boutte gone (not to mention the 5 relievers), the position players will be quick to follow.
ULL will be left with a ...

From Aaron Fitt,
As we wrote yesterday, there is very little difference between Ole Miss and South Carolina. But we now believe LSU has leapfrogged over both of them. The Tigers are up to No. 10 in the RPI (ahead of No. 13 South Carolina and No. 14 Ole Miss), and all three now have 15 top 50...
How are you getting those numbers. Do you have an RPI calculator?
No, it's a simple calculation. I see the effect of the wins/losses on winning % and add or subtract as necessary....
I'm sorry but playing Grambling or Yale on the road would not have made much difference. Bad teams are bad teams
Yes it would - it's simple math. 3.9 > 2.1....

The RPI is 25% winning percentage, 50% opponent's winning %, and 25% opponent's opponent's winning %. The major difference was when the NCAA modified the formula for winning % to reward those teams that played road games, while punishing teams that played alot of home games.
As an example, if Oo...
Playing 13 games against teams with 200+ RPI is detrimental no matter where you play them. South Carolina played 4 games away from home non-conference, which is one less than us (2 road, 2 neutral). Why is their RPI higher than ours when our records are almost identical?
I guess it...
I would think playing a good team at home would do more than a bad team on the road.
Did you not understand the post? Had we played Yale and Purdue on the road, our RPI would be 6 points higher, merely because we would have been credited with 6.5 wins versus 3.5. It's simple math...
| Tiger Rant|| Stop complaining about baseball OOC schedule... - Eye_Heart_Number_33 on 5/22/14 at 9:52 am|
The fact that we play so many home games is more detrimental to our RPI. Two years ago, the NCAA modified the formula, so a home win counts for 0.7 and a road win counts for 1.3. Had we played the same OOC schedule, but played 2 series on the road, as well as 3 other midweek road games, our RPI wo...
Let's get to the root of the problem. Maineri needs to start scheduling tougher non conference games. We could do something like the old Winn Dixie showdowns. You would think so, but if TCU wins their tourney, their RPI will be as high as 11-12, with ULL at 8-9. The difference will be 1) record vs Top 25 - TCU at 17-8, ULL at 1-0, and 2) Big 12 v...
