re: SWN cuts 40% of workforce - Htown Tiger
I thanks God everyday that I still have a job
Agreed. That's a pretty sizable reduction. I pass their new HQ every day going to work. They just moved into that spot not too long ago too. ...

re: Backdoor'ing the Roth (Vanguard) - Htown Tiger
That's weird, I dont have that link on my account. It goes from Transaction history --> Cost basis --> More Options (and its not under there). Do you have a separate Roth account already established with Vanguard? I'm wondering if that link is to convert this account to a Roth by establishing/cre...

re: Backdoor'ing the Roth (Vanguard) - Htown Tiger
I've done it the last couple of years, although I do a lump sum and immediately transfer it to the Roth account once it posts. But yes, its pretty straightforward and easy. I dont recall seeing a button that says "convert to Roth" though; I usually just do a simple account exchange. But either way, ...

re: OT Appliance Gurus - Htown Tiger
I'm certainly no appliance or handy man expert (I just posted help yesterday to install a light switch) but I did dabble in my own dryer's repair wit a few months back due to a similar issue. I ended up replacing both the fuse and the timer and mine has been good ever since. ...

I probably should add that when I tried it before without hooking it up, not only did it not work for that light, but the adjacent bedroom light and an adjacent hallway light also didn't work. ...

OT Electricians: installing a motion sensor light switch - Htown Tiger
I'm trying to install a motion sensor light switch but when I pull the standard switch out of the wall, it has 3 black wires and the green/ground. The switch I bought only has 2 blacks and the green, and everything I read online seems like that's what I should expect to see out of the standard one....

re: Year to date percentages and allocation - Htown Tiger
Given these are both long term plays, I'd just keep the status quo and continuing to dollar cost average while they are down. I wouldn't up contributions to them, as it looks like it's going to be a slow recovery up for energy, but I wouldn't move out of the funds now either. Disclaimer: I curre...
