re: If you could start over, how much would you save - LSUTOM07
quote: mid 20's quote: Ideally, I would like to invest about 40k/year (currently 33% of gross) Nice brag
If it wasn't clear in my post, that is combined. Two people averaging 60k at 25 with college degrees and 20k in student debt is nothing to brag about.. ...

If you could start over, how much would you save - LSUTOM07
Spin off from the "save to much for retirement thread".. If you could do it all over again, how much would you save for retirement at an early age? The wife and I are mid 20's, and 6 months from paying off student loans. This will free up an additional $3k per month to invest/spend as we ple...

re: Airlines Stock Watch - Earnings Week - LSUTOM07
AAL. I may add Southwest or Delta. AAL is the cheapest (by P/E) out there. I don't know why they have this low valuation by wall street. Long term my only fear is that when oil prices eventually rise, these stocks will take a huge hit. ...

re: Stock Watch Thread - LSUTOM07
I will be adding to my position in Apple this morning. Not to often does something like this come around.
I am contemplating the same thing. I'm just afraid that this may be a sign that Wall Street has unrealistic expectations for AAPL which could lead to the stock tumbling again. ...

re: What's the Money Board's take on the Flores MBA Program... - LSUTOM07
but down around LA, TX, MS and AL...should be just fine.
I disagree. I wouldn't go for just fine. It will also look extremely bad if he worked near Baton Rouge in the same time frame he got a degree from LSUS. That would throw up red flags for me if I was hiring. ...
I'm glad someone see what I'm trying to do. Look I've made mistakes, largely cause I went through things and at the time I didn't know my options. I'm just taking my best course of action, it isn't what everyone do.
After reading this post I feel like everyone in this thread is...

re: Bachelor Party in Destin - LSUTOM07
I just got back from one in Destin. We stayed within walking distance of Sandestin. The absolute best advice I can give you is get a place with a pool and hot tub. Beach during the day then Baytowne at night followed by the pool/hot tub.. sleep.. repeat. A boat to crab island would have been fun but...

Employer Educational Assistance - LSUTOM07
Employers are allowed to offer $5,250 each year tax free to an employee for educational assistance. I will pay $15k to finish off my masters this year. Am I allowed to claim some of the educational expenses from this year in 2016? I can't find anything stating that the $5,250 is for the current year...

Borrowing against 401k - LSUTOM07
Someone told me a disadvantage of borrowing against your 401k is that you are taxed twice on your money. Once on the money you use to pay the loan, and again when you withdraw that same money at retirement. When comparing to a conventional loan, you are paying that loan with a pay check that is ...

re: KORS is down big today - LSUTOM07
KORS is done
I'm having a hard time convincing myself of this. The company could not continue to grow at the rate it was growing. I think their spectacular growth from the start is catching up with them. The company has no debt, solid margins, and a P/E of 11. IMHO, I think the sto...
