I'm thinking that the life span will probably be shorter, and the POI shift will be more drastic with the "homemade" suppressor. Doesn't seem worth it to me. Suppressor companies do a lot of R&D to maximize the life span and minimize POI shift. ...

I'm not really sure I'm following your post, but I don't consider criminals as part of the gun culture of the U.S. Also, while 300,000 is a large number when compared to 270 million guns in the country it is a very small percentage. No where near the majority. Then 295,000 are criminals alread...
