Don't think either is significantly better than the other at this point. Will be a fun spring, that's for sure.
Shaw's biggest problem has been inability/unwillingness to pull the trigger on throws that have been there. Also has shown some arm strength issues (underthrown deep balls all season). ...

Not confident. Think Clemson is just too explosive, as good as our defense is and as bad as theirs is, for Carolina to keep up. Doesn't help that Shaw won't be able to run with the foot injury. And the game is on the road, where Shaw hasn't played well to say the least.

IMO SC is holding up pretty well in pass protection - as they did against LSU. Shaw just won't pull the trigger....

LSU had perfect game plan. Take away the pass rush and the defense isn't all that amazing. SC's linebackers are pretty average (SLOWWWWW) and were exposed all night in the run game. And the interior line wasn't incredible either.
Max protect with 3-step drop after 3-step drop throws worked well ...

Gotta give a lot of blame to the offense. D was on the field all night. But SC's Linebackers are so slow. Definitely the biggest weakness on D tonight.
LSU did an awesome job completely neutralizing the pass rush with running and all of the quick throws.

Good, but jury is still out.
Offense has been a pleasant surprise- though it hasn't played great. Still way ahead of what we saw for most of last season which is good to see.
Defense has been strong, but I'd still contend it really hasn't been tested. Thought Mizzou had some opportunities but ...

As an SC fan I'm not hugely confident. Both ECU and UAB moved the ball pretty easily at times, ECU especially though the team kept shooting itself in the foot with turnovers. And since Spurrier has been at Carolina the defense has struggled with zone-read based spread offenses similar to what Mizzou...

From what I saw, and from what people who were at he game have been saying, Carolina's WRs were open all night. IMO WRs aren't the problem.
The problem was Shaw either didn't pull the trigger, was running for his life because the O Line blows, or threw the ball late and/or weak. Though I will say...

Not that the group is great, but I don't see how people are questioning the WRs when the QB (and offensive line) play was so awful. It wasn't just the late, weak throws but Shaw was taking off and looking to run way too early in the 1st half. ...

I still find it incredible that last season even with Garcia throwing 4 picks, Vandy still only gained 77 total yards (including yardage lost from sacks). Ridiculous.

Royster was a guy you'd hope would've been right in the mix to replace Swearinger next year... but between his shoulder injury last year and diabetes just couldn't get on the practice field consistently.
Royster transfer aside, secondary/pass defense could be a big issue this year. Minus Clemson...

Vandy definitely has a shot. SC will be the better team throughout the year but wouldn't be at all surprising to see rust and sloppy play in the first game of the year. And based on last season, Vandy shouldn't be a push over playing at home....

Sucks. Just didn't have the hitting. Too many freshman and new guys who weren't' able to come up with big hits/plays. Wonder if Arkansas would've done any better. I sort of think Florida would've been the only team with the hitting to keep up with Arizona, but who knows.

Shaw's running ability gives him an extra dimension over some of the other QBs but he's gotta go from a guy that doesn't make a lot of mistakes to a QB that picks apart the defense. Showed the ability late last year but has to do it consistently. I think McCarron is in a similar situation....
