It's almost exactly $300. 9k down on a house saves you considerably more interest on a 30 year mortgage, and if that 9k is the difference in you paying PMI or not, then without a doubt contribute the 9k to the down payment and hit that 20% mark. ...

2.8% is nothing. If you can keep the down payment and avoid pmi like people are saying, then do that. but with only $9,000 left, and paying $350/mo. how much interest are you really saving? ETA: saving Like $500 or so in interest? 3 years of PMI is much more. ...
