We have 529 plans for each kid (2). They will probably fund a year of college at Alabama or another state school. Our deal to them is if they earn a scholarship, they go where they earned it. If not, it is two years at a community college, living at home, then two more locally at a four year college...

When I do home improvement, I use my discover and shop online for in store pickup. Always 5%, sometimes 10% at lowes and Home Depot. You just have to link through their site. Plus all your equipment is waiting for you at the service desk when you get there. ...

Based on that, I would say no. Compare it against the discover card. For a 175 dollar fee, if you average 2% cash back, which you probably won't, your first 8750 in purchases are to pay the fee back. Discover has no annual fee and you earn 1% on everything and 5% on rotating categories such as gas, ...

I am sure you could call and try the same "I'm leaving if..." as you do with other credit cards, but you get a free night at a Marriott hotel anyways with your annual fee, so it pays for itself.
