Take rod to Superior they do good work reasonably priced and generally quick. They replaced the tip on my micro eye rod while I waited only cost around $10.

I have Maui's for daily wear and Costa for fishing. I prefer glass for the scratch resistance because I'm always laying mine down somewhere and I scratch plastic lenses within a few days....

I'd recommend a production bow like Martin, Bear or PSE for entry level. Seen too many damaged bows to buy used from the world wide innertube.
