The launch you referenced is probably behind the fisherman's wharf bar it ends up at the same area as laurel ridge without the low bridges. They both take you to the pumping stain and into the petit Amite from there. ...

Have you looked at public land? Most have youth hunt days that restrict access for the area to only the kids and their supervising adults. I picture Mississippi as being like Louisiana in that there's more land than people once you get into the rural areas away from I10 and the subdivisions. ...

I have half a dozen or so Remingtons from pump shotguns to autoloader deer rifles. The newer 870 express 3-1/2" is the biggest POS in my gun cabinet. Wingmaster was a great gun but the Express is pure garbage IMHO. Look for used gun so you won't have to be concerned with banging it around. Nova, ...

I misread the OP:
People hunt with rifles because it's perfectly legal to and they enjoy it. I bowhunt except when I go back home and hunt with my Dad and Brother. They use rifles and when in Beekman I do as the Beekmans do. Futility= bowhunting a clearcut....

Since what I like to call my "Diameter of Death" shrinks when using a bow I'm able to increase my challenge without raising my trophy standards too much. If it's wet I set a large bag of charcoal underneath it and light like for BBQing. Dry I just use the pile itself. Add pine knots if available in both scenarios.
