re: My son's teacher counts off 10pts per misspelled word - DLauw
Had a college English course (Ages ago) that was taught by an undergrad. His policy, stated on the first day of class, was a letter grade deduction for any mistake, whether it be grammatical or spelling. I dropped the class that afternoon and was in another by Wednesday. Made an A....

re: Where to find Purple & Gold Yeti? - DLauw
If it's been there a while, your not going to remove clear coat from clear coat with any kind of ease. Best bet is to wet sand with 2000 grit until slick then buff then hand wax to remove swirls. Be careful as you can not to cut through. Good luck. ...
No way licensing has anything to do with it. Purely manufacturing cost. Going from 3 colors or tops and 3 colors of bottoms to 35+ colors of tops and 35+ colors of bottoms is a huge increase. Licensing is cake and at the end of the day a big brand manufacturer can pass licensing fees to consu...

re: Gun ownership,ethics,conceal carry,vehicle storage - DLauw
Still not a CCP holder. LSP has fricked up my paper work twice. My pistol rides next to me in the jeep between the pbrake and shifter when I'm in Louisiana. In Texas, it rides under my seat or inside the center console if I have the doors off. I don't get pulled over because I don't break traffic...

Tell me about .257 weatherby mag - DLauw
I acquired a vanguard sporter in .257 last night and I'm wondering if I should spend some money on glass for it and hunt with it (deer and hog) or stick with my 30-06 synthetic and put the .257 in the safe and take it to the range every once in a while. (Sorry for the run-on sentence)...

re: Best places to find older model jeeps for sale? - DLauw
Are the axles original on that '77? I only ask because jeep/AMC switched to the widetrack around '82 I think. If they are original, they're going to be the narrower width axles that were known to be "tippy". I wouldn't buy it (if it were me) but (again if it was me) if I did, I'd look at some whe...

re: Drivers who squeeze in front of you at 75+MPH on I-10? - DLauw
those frickers! my go to method is to let off the gas and let them in. Then , just to be a dick, I let off the gas just enough to maintain my 4+ car length distance behind them. Sometimes, to be a real a-hole, i'll hit the decelerate button on my cruise control when i let them in. and if i'm i...
Support America and capitalism by buying a Ford
we always tell people who come in with fords- "yes, we love them because they didn't take that government money but they made it up by charging more for parts." at my calculations- 35% higher than all other american made motor vehicles...

re: Operating a bulldozer - DLauw
Depends on the size/length of the tracks but one of the first things I learned was if you gouge, pick up the blade and back drag to fill the gouge right then or when the front of your tracks hit the gouge, you'll gouge again. Blade control takes a lot of practice. Keep the blade angled while your...
