I'm guessing chopique are what we call grinnel, mudfish, bowfin here in Ga/SC. If so, you are dead right. Mean MF's. Had one take a 3/4 ounce Roland Martin heavy wire spinnerbait and turn it into a pretzel once upon a time down in Fla. SOB was 10-15 lb range. Thought it was a log on the bottom till...

For those thinking about the LCP in either .380 or 9 have you actually shot it? I shot both and while its a neat gun you can have that 1/4 mile travel double action trigger and the no place for your pinky finger all day long. Go shoot the .p238 then turn around n shoot the LCP an...

re: How about a Bow Hunting thread? - AUTimbo
I know it's not the norm but I'm standing 80-90 % of the time when on stand. Have had too many times through the years when big boys showed up or moved where sitting would have ruined the chance at a shot. But I do usually set up with the bottom of my stand hanging at 23-25 ft up. Hunt lock ons @ 4...
Also 9fps slower at 30yds, and 11fps slower at 40.
That is more useful info IMHO. Tells the difference in drag on the arrow via using a WB. I always wondered if they upset flight more at the launch. When the arrow launches it bends on both axis(s) so I would imagine it would be...

re: How about a Bow Hunting thread? - AUTimbo
The whisker biscuits are popular hunting rests because they are simple, rugged and easy to set up. I personally never shot one but would imagine that there would be some element of noise that would occur when drawing an arrow across a WB but it may be minimal to alert deer close by. A well tuned...

Sig P238 Sport for CC - AUTimbo
Went in to PSA this weekend and shot both the P238 and P938 Sport models (Rubber Hogue grip and extended pinky mag). Looking for a CC gun for the fiancee and I was more than pleasantly surprised at the accuracy of the little Sig. Wasn't really looking at these, but with the deal going on at PSA, $4...

Had these at the Cabela's grand opening here in Upstate ,SC this past wknd for 24.95. With extra $5 from a coupon it dropped to $19.95/brick. Only allowed one brick per day though, which was good all around for those really needing some....
By minimal, I mean less the .13" at 40 yards groups and approx 3-5 fps more. When you have a bow shooting 322 fps, does it really matter?
I shot competitively for 10 years, won three state ASA, an IBO and two NFAA State Championships. That said , if you can tell that your...

I'm in the Upstate also. Think they arent that concerned with Cabela's. They pretty much have the best gun prices in town, and that doesn't even include the websites Daily Specials, which is actually a seperate entity. It may make their in store ammo pricing come back down to Earth, but I dou...

I guess I should clarify. It's actually a reflex sight with a choice of 4 aiming reticles/ dots Used the 2 MOA dot with no circle. Takes some getting used to but after a few mags was hammering the chit out of the bull rapid firing. The stock irons are great with a high vis front but with 50 yr old...

Red Dot Holographic sights for Buckmark/Ruger Mark lll - AUTimbo
Guys, if you have one of these two pistols, and don't have a red dot sight for it you are really missing out. Being a bit closer to "over-the-hill" means my eyes aren't what they used to be. While I shot this pistol well before, it is an absolute beast with the new Sightmark on it. Ran out of time...

Never went crappie fishing per se, but have caught several while bass fishing. Two largest were 2 lb 2 oz on a 7" culprit and the other was a 3lb 4 oz on a white buzzbait at dusk. Kinda thought about mounting the larger one but backed out. He ate mighty fine though....

re: Mass vs velocity? What are your thoughts? .45 superior to 9mm - AUTimbo
After watching a tactical show demo on the tube this past wknd I would have to say any of the pistol choices are negligible. Using ballistics gel they shot. 9, 40 and 45 and had great penetration but I was shocked at the size. ( or lack of) the wound channel on all. Shot the same gel with .223 a...
