If that happens, Cassidy will have won the race with 75% of the vote. That's probably not happening....

| Political Talk|| re: More responsible for fall of Berlin Wall: Reagan or Gorbachev? - maine82 on 11/10/14 at 8:59 pm|
Reagan engaged the Soviet Union in an arms race that they couldn't win, and he pushed down on all their pressure points - launched Star Wars, moved the Trident missiles to Europe, challenged their proxies in Nicaragua, Afghanistan, Angola, etc., toppled countries like Grenada when he had to, seized ...
I agree, but you have to go beyond platitudes. You have to realize that when your legacy is to have been intentionally ghettoized, disenfranchised and economically limited, that carries with it generational effects. e.g. If your grandfather owned a home and taught your dad about mortgages, ba...
I think it's going to be hard for things to get better if most whites can't even admit that what happened was severely handicapping...even to some modern blacks.
It's easy to talk about education and home-owning and having bank accounts when you group up with those things as routine (whil...
Ridiculously easy, most 8th graders would pass this
Some of the questions are easy but some are nonsense. See Question 1. That question is designed to fail the test-taker right away. You can't say "1." is part of the sentence, and there isn't a number in the actual sentence. Th...
| Political Talk|| re: 100% of Newly Elected GOP Senators Campaigned on Repealing Obamacare - maine82 on 11/5/14 at 11:14 am|
At some point, Obama has to impose the individual and employer mandates. Once that happens, you're going to have lost jobs and you're going to have the same insurance cancellations in the group (small business) market as you had in the individual market.
I don't think Obamacare is going away e...

I voted for Claitor and still would, but this is a little cheap, particularly the Tauzin part. Graves was also an effective coastal restoration coordinator, and he deserves a lot of credit for that.
The only bad candidate in this race is Whitney....
She's going to lose and we're going to lose a very powerful Senator with seniority
On the seniority question - Robert Byrd was a U.S. Senator from West Virginia from 1959 until he died in 2010. Over 50 years. The man was famous for bringing in pork to his state, and he had a huge...
But really, I'm weary of landrieu but i needs reasons to "switch" sides
Do you like Obama? Do you like his policies? Because by far and away the most important vote any of these people will take is who they vote for to organize the Senate. If Landrieu gets in she'll vote for Rei...
It was so loud last night it HAD to have had an effect right? If the fans leave at halftime, does LSU lose?
I do think the crowd, particularly those along the Ole Miss sideline, got into Wallace's head. He wasn't necessarily intimidated but he got distracted by them, and I think h...

Jemele Hill's close but Michael Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser are tools. So I'd have to go with them.
Yeah, you've got to sort of feel for Jim Buss. He's giving them what they want though
That seems to me the real problem. Nobody respects Jim Buss so they won't give him the authority he needs. If he had the authority he needs, he could have pushed Kobe to accept less money with t...
