re: Quarterback question - TheDrunkenTigah
Who knows for sure, but QB recruiting is a whole different game. I'm sure if LSU thought they had any shot they would have made contact....

re: Have we talked about the squib kick from our own 20 with 44 seconds left? - TheDrunkenTigah
If anyone sounds desperate, it's you. You keep parroting the same line over and over asking why don't we squib every time if it's such a great strategy. When anyone points out why it was appropriate in this situation, and this one only, you simply ignore them. You argue, and rationalize, like a chil...
+1 It would be nice to have a large portion of the NEZ, if not the fickle, juvenile and vulgar students sing along and sway back and forth arm in arm while Miles and the players sing the Alma Mater. The last time I really remember that happening was Arkansas '11.
Plenty of stud...
I dont give a shite what they are. The only reason they didnt get the ball at the 50 is because multiple players on their team screwed up. Not because we called the perfect play
No one has said at any point that it was a well executed squib kick, that's the point most are missing....
quote: If the squib kick was such a great tactical ploy, every team would squib quick every time. That's the point. I asked a simple question that no one has answered: where would you expect the ball to be put in play after the squib? One moron said the 37, where the ball ended up...

Do you not understand we were backed up by a 15 yard penalty? Those two returns were kicked from the 35. In fact, those returns illustrate that they had been getting decent ones, kicking it deep is almost assuring they will at least get back to the 35, with a chance they break it loose. There is zer...

re: Have we talked about the squib kick from our own 20 with 44 seconds left? - TheDrunkenTigah
Basically, at best we are hoping to give UK the ball at their own 40 yard line, but more likely about their own 45 yard line to midfield
The return puts it there regardless due to being on the 20. The squib removes the chance they break it lose. Fair catch goes out the window down ...
Makes sense from the 35, not from the 20. Easy questions for all you morons: Where would you expect the ball to wind up after a squib kick?
How are you not getting this, it ONLY makes sense from the 20. Backed up, even NFL kickers will struggle to get it out the back...

re: Have we talked about the squib kick from our own 20 with 44 seconds left? - TheDrunkenTigah
I understand you're a moron. One would expect a kickoff from the 20 to land about the 10 to 15... after a 20 or 25 yard return Kentucky's still on their side of the field. With the squib from the 20 there's a significant chance the ball never reaches the 50 to begin with. [/...
Posted by theknightswhosay I think the idea was to prevent a decent return. Had one of the Kentucky players fallen on it, they probably would have just run out the clock. I doubt it was supposed to hit the field as early as it did though. It risked one of the more up-field players fielding ...

re: Death of the Bubble Screen - TheDrunkenTigah
We've seen variations of all the plays you mentioned. They all have either been so badly looked off by the QB that no one is fooled, or hit the turf for an incompletion. Running that kind of play takes poise and repetition, something neither of our QBs have much of at this point. I know I'm beating ...

re: Death of the Bubble Screen - TheDrunkenTigah
Yeah Jimbo ran it too, but not sure if I would describe the bubble screen as conservative. By design you leave at least one DB free to make a tackle, unless they just whiff on on the coverage. The play gambles on your WR being able to make a DB miss....
Posted by jimbeam The db's always play our slots super loose. It's gotta work at least once a game
Cam has noticed this. One of the few bad passes Harris made against New Mexico state was a variation of the bubble screen he sailed. Jennings doesn't have enough zip to make it e...
